Once again humans are self domesticated animals. Every so often some group of humans get together and create a 'tribe' that think they are more superior than all the other tribes. (ie.. bombing on 9-11, Hitler, Imperial Japan, ....... Genghis khan, Roman Empire....). Than human animal's emotions take over and the other human tribes become less domesticated. While the 'wild' animal trait can be suppressed or crushed for a few years, nothing will change.
But there is one thing that will stop it...... if you watched the 1951 movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still" they talk about how all civilized planets got together and created a population of robots. The robots had one purpose- to stop all acts of violence of one planet against another .... by elimination.

Yes.............perpertrated by Westerners who now don't have the decency to be empathetic.
Yes I think 'multiculturism is the answer BUT this will take a very long time.

Do you think Sharia law could ever coexist with our Western judicial system?

No idea but IF we work on being nicer perhaps it would die out. Hopefully women getting stronger will help. I don't know even if they are allowed to see Western programming. I just know nothing stays the same as we are seeing today in the world!

Something else.
Though knowing Humans as I do the "something else"
will turn out to be even worse, with its own unforeseen consequences.
The Tao says "Do nothing and nothing is left undone".
Suggesting that actions obey the laws of physics,
in that every action has an equal and opposite reaction.

"Strike the root?"
But what is that root?

My guess would be the military-industrial complex — also known as the War Machine. Does that make sense?

"Then start rebuilding all the cities, homes and infrastructure that have been bombed into smithereens."
I recall an episode of Star Trek where the population of a planet used a super computer to calculate
the result of disputes. Instead of the inhabitants destroying their infrastructure and planet the calculated
loss of life was extracted from either sides populations. As long as we are not visited by aliens - who will
be understandably appalled by our behaviour when they are selected for termination - it might be a
reasonable way to settle our disputes in future...
At least until we evolve into Humans who are aware of what Humanity entails...

With "Brexit" tearing the fabric of democracy apart in the UK,
it has been drilled home to me just how individual individuals are!
Even those who agree have little or no idea what it is they actually
agree upon. It seems to be the lot of conscious beings, self aware
and unaware alike, to make war on their neighbours.
Even in nature the most tranquil ecosystems engage in protracted
battles and arms races.
