If you can't tell, it's a younger, ponyfied Discord dancing with Pinkie Pie. xD
I tried really hard to get Pinkie's facial expression right, and I couldn't do it. 
Update: yay! I fixed her face!
Update: So anyways, my theory about this picture is that for some reason (that I haven't figured out yet) Pinkie Pie goes back in time to when Discord first began his tyranny over Equestria (which, for all we know could have started thousands of years ago, hence his younger appearance in this picture) and his younger self sees her and falls in love with her. Then, not knowing that she would recognize him due to knowing him in the future, disguises himself as a stallion with the intention of wooing her. She is quite confused at first, but eventually she realizes that he doesn't know she recognizes him, even in pony form, as the spirit of chaos and current ruler of Equestria. She then understands his intentions towards her. How does she react? I do not know. What do you think?
Well that's my idea. What is your theory of the story behind this picture?

Interesting idea. I have a version much like this of Discord but his original name is "Accord" and he basically still has his horselike head but with a unicorn horn and different eyes and such.

I just love that ponified look of Discord, I actually though he looked like Discord Whooves at the start (except from the eyes and the horn ofc).

i mean, with discord being able to change himself into whatever he wants, he really doesnt need to BE younger to LOOK younger. this could take place in the present.
when i first saw discord's expression, it made me think he was staring threateningly at something just over pinkie's shoulder. maybe they're at a gala, with discord undercover for some reason, having just spotted his target.
(perhaps because they suspect changelings have infiltrated canterlot again, and discord is one of the few who can reliably spot them with the minimum of fuss. (as in, without having to use a big flashy revealing spell))?
so he grabs pinkie for a dance so he can move closer to the suspect without causing suspicion, but she isnt in on the secret; hence the confused look.

Pinkie Pie gets caught in a (somewhat) cross fire when Twilight is trying out the time traveling spell again, but since Twilight didn't come with her Pinkie Pie is stuck in that era of time. But when she sees all the chaos unbounded, her first thought is joy because cotton candy clouds and but then gets worried knowing that Discord's free again and that she's alone without her element or friends. And then Discord comes into play with this little lurve story with all you described earlier. But once she realizes that he doesn't know that she knows he's Discord, she decieds to put up an act to make sure she doesn't get on his bad side, but slowly she even starts believing her own act to the point where she doesn't even believe she's putting on airs any more and is truly falling for Discord... But once he's defeated, that is when she is sent back home... Heartbroken, and wanting to make amends with the Discord of the now... To properly admit her feelings for him... Pony or not.

Maybe she finds a way to go back to the future long before discord is turned to stone but at that point she doesn't want to leave, so she has an idea and goes to the mirror pool, creates a copy of herself, somehow copies all her memories over, and sends it to the future. TADA!

Ohhhhhhhh I like your "caught in the crossfire of twilight trying to experiment with time travel". But then, does the discord of the now recognize her as the pony from back then? Maybe he thinks pinkie is a descendant of the pony he once woo'd
