Long overdue. As are pretty much every commission I do. Animal mood was striking me tonight though....so whew! 1 down, yay! :-\Ballpoint pen, white gel pen, colored pencil and Copic markers on toned paper.

My mother had three of these during the last few years that she lived in their home on East Beach of St. Simons Island, Georgia. Her kitties would catch the baby possums and bring them to her ... when the first one came, Mom had him taken to the vet to have all of the shots need to make him safe. For the next two years, this critter got so much love and attention: all the bananas and blue cheese dressing he could eat, a bath every day, held and walked through the house or allowed to sleep on the pool room couch, and all of the delight my mother could bestow on him. Pop even made him a huge cage six feet by four feet by two feet if I remember right. Mom got two others during the course of the next five years and did the same thing. Something about possums she loved ... not sure what, but it made her happy. Pop said that alone was worth all the effort.
