how do you always make them so much alike to the real ones?

I like to do caricatures of people but not all deformed like the ones you see in the comic strips. It's achieved by study of their facial features... break down their features: face shape, eye shape, eyebrow set, nose shape. Then you put it all together.
Try it. Get a picture of one of them and draw what you see, except lines only.
