Though the plague did not touch her, Kotryna was just as hard-pressed as the rest of the pack by the following food shortage. When she couldn't scrape enough together under her own hunting endeavors to survive comfortably, she would often turn to more successful packmates for a scrap or two from their kills. Her overbearing entitlement in demanding food often caused her to leave with an empty stomach, but others were too sympathetic towards, or at least embarrassed by, the aging widow to turn her away.
