I think it freaks people out so mucbh because it IS so anthromorphic. You've gone beyond the regular catgirl ears and tail and actually put a dogs face on a person's body. It creates two senses of expectation, which (when combined) serve as nightmare fuel.

Also, I don't know if it was intentional, but the way her hips are contorted just appears very unnatural using the human structure of your model. It LOOKS painful my friend, which my be another part of the creepy factor.

Thanks for the insight! I wasn't thinking on any of that, but at that "nightmare fuel" site 3DCG characters were FIRST in the list! LOL
The base figure on this hybrid is the "P4 Woman", so putting her on this pose was a little more than a technical challenge. No wonder it might look awkward since even the much newer Victoria 3 wouldn't bend well in this pose as well.
On the other hand, in Egypt she would be considered a Goddess!

I'm sure it's bad form to reply to my own statement, but I would like to add this before I forget.
I think this is a great start to a new direction for you. However I would also suggest, to reduce the shock factor, pushing further into the realm of the anthro-elements. I don't know what you can do with poser, or if you could switch any other elements to be more "canine" (like legs, arms, hands, feet, etc), however if you made her shaggier, a little more animal like, and dressed her in cloths more suitable for the rudamentary animal (if at all).
Then again, this is just my opinion (and I have been wrong, very often). One resource I might suggest is some of the album art from Snoop's original albums (back when he was still Snoop Dogg).

Once again, with the bad form.
Something else I've noticed is that her pose doesn't seem to fit her expression. Her facial expression is very happy go lucky, like a dog that just wants to play. However her body language suggests that she's very refined, reserved, and composed. If I had to compare, I would do so with photos from hip hop magazines.
In contrast, body language that might fit that expression would be playful, springy, and light on her feet. Something like a picture of a child playing, taken in motion.
An expression that would fit that pose would quite possibly be the wisened gaze of an old dog, or the "relaxed happy" stare of big dogs like Saint Bernards.
