Haha yeah me too! I do love the show dearly, but it was so confusing. I just loved the depth of the characters too~
No problem~

The show was canceled in Japan for lack of interest, mostly a failure. In the end it was removed from TV. And the original ending was so confusing nobody understood what it meant. They had to make a 2nd ending. LOL

I think the most important EVA contribution was the new "organic" mecha designs. The rest was mostly fan service over a weak (and often confusing) story. ^^

Hehe that indeed sounds like a strange idea for a "club". I would call that just as art exchange, and I have an entire area in my front page dedicated just for that - but it's a 2-way thing instead. Every once in a while I open an 'art exchange event' and people from all over come to draw my oc's and I create their's in 3D. ^^

yup.. i do reward them with requests of whatever they want.. but i do add your oc's an other anime in there too.. i just have to wait for my friend to get her pc working an she can help get it more organized XD

Oh I thought only the ones who win your contests get requests granted. In my art exchange events it is always a 1-to-1 trade for all who participate. Of course, the number of slots is limited. ^^

In my case, recreating a character in 3D takes many hours and it is very challenging because of limitations with my tools and the models themselves. Creating a single new model from scratch may take several weeks or even months, I prefer to reuse existing ones but they often don't match the style being requested.

The majority of characters in my gallery are original. I think I only made 3 or 4 fanart pics so far, where Lara Croft was the last one. And of course I made lots of art trades where I recreated characters from other people in 3D media, more than 30 times already. O_o I might be the only 3D artist here who ever did that...

Then computer courses are not for you, unless you like lots of math, logic and programming. Computer as means to create art is not taught in college as far as I know. I worked many years as a commercial systems programmer and also as database developer, which have nothing to do with art.
There are CGI schools out there, but they are not considered as college education and will give you a diploma - not a degree. The best one I know of is in L.A., California, and it costs about $42,000 for a 3 years course last time I checked. The school is located in Hollywood, so living there also considerably adds to the expenses. Other CGI courses I saw out there are not worth mentioning in comparison to this one. ^^

The one I told you about is called Gnomon school of visual arts, and is located in Hollywood, CA. One thing that is remarkable about them is that all of their teachers actually work in the game/movie industry and teach CGI exactly as it is in the industry.
