Description ~Teyasha~

This deviation is a trade art I made for showing his Teyasha catgirl character, which here I show as gypsy dancer. Check here [link] for the original character design. He drew my Usagi Sawako bunny girl character in return (thank you, Killmite-Studios!). ^^

Thanks for coming by!

Thank you! If catgirls existed and if there was one that was a gypsy dancer, she would probably look like this.

LOL I can make that animation if we can get a hold on some belly dancing motion capture data in BVH format.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ashia21 In reply to ken1171 [2007-05-19 21:50:13 +0000 UTC]

May I ask what BVH is?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ken1171 In reply to Ashia21 [2007-05-19 23:11:30 +0000 UTC]

BVH is a file format used for MOCAP (motion capture).
MOCAP hardware records the movement of an actor (a person) and stores all the body movements to disk.
This hardware is *ultra* expensive, so I can only use something created by somebody else. ^^
But having MOCAP data files is the starting point for 3D animations, such as those you see in movies.

Hmm, my mom has a lot of belly dances tapes and stuff, and cloud u use something off of YOUTUBE?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ken1171 In reply to Ashia21 [2007-05-20 22:25:21 +0000 UTC]

Maybe I could but that would be a lot of work just for a deviation.
The process is called motion tracking, and it works in a frame-by-frame basis.
A regular video runs at 30 frames per second.

Ashia21 In reply to ken1171 [2007-05-20 22:28:15 +0000 UTC]

*tweet* Moms got some DVDs, vould u use those?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ken1171 In reply to Ashia21 [2007-05-20 22:45:18 +0000 UTC]

YouTube videos would be easier to get for that purpose.
Motion tracking might be a lot of work to do manually, especially if the camera doesn't stay in the same place.
Whenever the camera moves, I lose track of where the character was before.

Hey thanks for all the links, I watched all of them! Belly dancing looks way more challenging than the Hawaiian Hula, which is the closest things I know of. The poi choreographies were also quite impressive. Some of my friends from martial art classes practice poi but none of them is as good as those guys from the videos!

We better not compare 2D and 3D medias.
That might start a dispute while this event is to bring us together.
