what did you end up doing with your hoverbike?

Kendra-Paige In reply to TemaTime [2009-12-28 07:26:46 +0000 UTC]
Ooh, that deviation needs editing.
The hoverbike was never completed, sadly. =/ Calculations put it at about $5000 or so, barring that my friend still had access to the government lab/industrial area he made Gabranth in. Sadly, that's when the economy went sour, so he lost his contracts at that station, and none of us could really afford to blow that kind of cash. =/

I think he still wears it around. It is made of aluminum, latex-alloy, and clay. So, yes and no. xD

wow, really amazing, but i got a question how did you made the helmet and which materials did you use, and by the way again amazing job!!

Kendra-Paige In reply to BTM55 [2009-10-17 03:13:10 +0000 UTC]
The cosplay is actually not my own but a friend's.
He made the helmet out of clay, the vest out of aluminum, the cape out of cow leather, most of the armor out of aluminum and a latex-mixture, as well as the sword out of a large industrial grade magnetic bar, with a latex mixture.

WOW, WHATS IT MADE OUT OF, I WANA MAKE ONE, OR BUY IT, BUT MOSTLY MAKE ONE.

Kendra-Paige In reply to narutobakasan [2009-09-08 05:58:23 +0000 UTC]
It's made of aluminum, clay, and a latex mixture for flexibility. The coat itself is made of cow leather, so that it would be more authentic and thick.
I did not make the costume, as it was a friend of mine that cosplayed it, but it was a huge investment on his part. Gabranth cost him about $3,000 over all.

His cosplay was amazing, and it's still one of the best Gabranths I've ever seen.

Thanks for the fav!
It's due to the nighttime mode on my dslr. It gives off a slightly yellowish/red tone to it, and blurs some of the edges of the photo. Most digital cameras should have that mode.

Canon's a good company. I'm trying to find another camera that's better than my 5mp but no luck so far. The people in my town don't know anything about digital photography -.-

Thanks, Matt.
You better go to Metrocon in '08 then, so you can see our Hoverbike. xD
Btw, I asked on your DA before, but I'll ask again:
What do you charge these days for sites? Because, I need one made, and, well, you're my obvious first choice. XD

Haha, my girlfriend LOATHES anime and most, not all, but most video game characters and the like. I can only ever watch my shows/movies when she's at work and I don't think she'd let me go without her (we live together, fyi) but the hoverbike sounds like it's going to be FAN-tastic. *roflzomghahabadpunlolz* Take lots of pictures. As far as websites go, I typically charge $50 an hour for web so prices vary from around $200 (pretty basic 3-5 page informational sites) to over $1000 depending on the size of the project (like ecommerce websites for people who want content management and online stores). Of course standards compliant css and html, search engine optimization and all that good stuff is included. Shoot me an e-mail with some details if you're interested and I can give you a more accurate quote depending on what you're looking for -- admin@one-ending.net -- I have a few clients lined up for sometime in Jan./Feb. and just got another e-mail yesterday about a potential project and I also had an interview with a local design studio about doing an internship, which is probably going to be over the summer unless they'll let me start sooner than that, so I don't know what my schedule is at this point or what kind of deadlines you might be on at but if you're not in a big rush I'm sure I have the time. Right now I'm fairly open through the rest of December and at random times once '08 rolls around. At present I'm using some of my spare time to redesign my own website and rebrand my identity -- business cards, logo, blah blah blah.

Rofl, I never pegged you as one who would let their girlfriend rule their hobbies. xD You owned a FF site, if my guy didn't like anime or video games, I'd kick his ass out. XD
Now I don't feel bad for her when you give her harsh criticism.
As for the site, it's going to be basic. I just need to get our cosplay group site up, with a basic layout. Oz [Ozaark] if you remember him, was supposed to do it, but...he turned into a drug addict. xD

Meh, she's an interior designer so... whatever, lol -- she's at least more proficient with Photoshop and Illustrator than the other I.D. students. x.X; You would sh*t yourself if you heard some of the stupid questions they have about photoshop. One of the interior design teachers tried to have them label photographs with text using Microsoft Word because half of them didn't know how to use the text tool in PS. The interior design program at Ringing has a 100% hiring rate for graduates but the dropout rate is like... 3/4 or something ridiculous because most of them are ditsy blonds that have no business being there in the first place. Her I.D. teacher failed almost half the class this semester. Aaanyway, how soon would you need the site running and do you already have hosting set up or are you just going to use a subdomain on one of your other sites? If there's any specific style that you have in mind lemme' know. (ie: simple and sleek, fun / lighthearted, dark, colorful... whatever) Also, if you guys already have any kind of logo or other stuff that you use and want that incorporated into the look and feel of the website just gimme' the url and I'll need any photos that you want added on the site -- I assume you'll probably want to use a photo gallery. If you want to use a CMS I can adapt the layout to a Wordpress theme for you.

News / blogging platform: Wordpress
Gallery: Gallery2 -- wordpress integration plugin available [ [link] ]
Forums: vBulletin or I've always liked Woltlab's Burning Board (WBB) [ [link] ] which is what I used to run my FF forums back in the day -- it's simple, easy to alter templates and install scripts, etc.
