Description Based on a statue I got for my birthday, I was practicing both machines and the stained steel texture.

Ooh, cool! Hehe, when I saw the thumbnail, I thought instead of back legs he had a giant wheel, because of the way the tail is curved!

Nicely done.Β This's a real good start!
Although to me the dragon looks more like he's made from leather than steel for some reason. I think because of the texture but whatever I like this anyway. Drawing machines and metals are rather difficult, however, like any other subject they become easier to draw with time and practice. I like how you drew the gears and the pose, this dragon seems as if its ready to shoot fire!

From ProjectComment
I must say that the picture is well drawn and the color is very nice. I like the concept and idea of this as it may represent a painting of a treasure that one wishes to reminisce on in the future. The drawing of the dragon is is very good, however I think the proportions on the spines upon the tail might a little work as well as the the claws, unless that was your intention from the start.

Since you based this on your statue, I suppose you used point perspective. After drawing, the colors you added makes it appear differently than before. I like the use and reference of metal and machinery or robots by using the the different shades of gray and I'm assuming black for the texture and shadings. A nice touch of yellow, orange and/or gold for the plates, bolts, armor and gear.

Overall, great work and detail and the color of course. I'd say work a little on the shapes and perhaps the littlest details on the body. Good work.
