I clocked over 100 hours in Fallout 3, beat every expansion... never did find a dog.

Dogmeat can be found in the junkyard near Megaton, he's getting attacked by ghouls when you meet him and you save his life.

was talking to a Soldier on Ft Jackson,..., I'm retired Army. He told me of a dog they had in the squad-just a hang around,..., it was the only creature that kept them hopeful of making it thru. He came home but the pooch was left behind,...

Nuh-uh! Are you, too, a Fallout fan?! I honestly appreciate this piece a lot. It has the right amount of wastelandish barren ground atmosphere and the trustworthy happy attitude of Dogmeat, including some powerarmor... It brings out some of the most iconic things about Fallout.
It may be relatively dull background-wise, but knowing the game I definitely understand why. I think this is beautiful, so thank you for sharing ^^
