Description ...Tom Waits, that is! This is my first oil painting, done for a class...had fun with it and I may use this method for more stuff (actually did it in class in about an hour).

Oil takes me FOREVER!!! WEEKS. I'm too much of a perfectionist I guess...

anyways, it's GORGEOUS. I love the colours and the textures. You did a really great job!! And Tom is amazing.

Yup, Tom is another favorite of mine (and someone who DOES work well with the painting on gel medium or gesso technique)!

Wow, I really love the way you painted this! It's very expressive, doesn't have the rigidness of a lot of the other pieces in your gallery. I think it works really well here, especially for the subject.

HA! First off, I love that you did this in such a short amount of time in OIL. awesome.

What's hilarious is today I'll be starting a Tom Waits painting I've had planed for months... Thanks for posting this. It has tipped my art scales even further in the direction of doing it.

I need a break away from a sculpture I'm working on, and I've been waiting for the right idea to strike me with Waits....it finally did. It won't be made for any other reason than I need a break from sculpting and I love Tom Waits's music.
