“By the power of Grayskull!” It was only a matter of time before I visited the world of He-Man. The show was a staple in my house after school during the 80’s. He-Man merchandise around my house was only out done my Star Wars collection. I loved and still do love He-man and the Masters of the Universe. Strangely enough this is a picture I started last summer but for whatever reason never finished it. I came across it while organizing some old files and since I’ve been stumped on what to do after AFL 5 I figured “Time to finish He-man!” I’m pretty pleased how it turned out, especially Skeletor and Battlecat.Drawn on marker paper, colored in Photoshop, background done in Daz3D and Photoshop with additional effects in After Effects.

So what do you do to a pic like this in after effects that you cant do in photoshop?

Thanks! Well in this picture nothing really special, I used a lens flare plug in that I have for AE, basically so I'm not stuck with all the boring/typical ones on PS. But there's a lot of simulation and other effects on there that can be pretty neat if used creatively. I'm still a noob with it so most of the stuff done recently with it is flares. I did use a shatter simulation effect for my quarterfinal fight that worked out pretty good too.
