V2 Outfit designs Version 1 design

Ra's animal forms needed some serious overhaul, as my dumbass not only did not even bother to draw a proper bird for him, but also I wanted to give him an actual fucking roc of all things. Thankfully I have managed to let that idiotic notion go now. Praise the sun, indeed.

Although gods are capable of taking up many shapes, most prefer to stick with one or two animal forms, so called “sacred animals”. Ra is no exception, although he belongs in the very small group of gods whose disguises include a mythical creature.

His everyday animal is the greater spotted eagle, a truly royal raptor with a presence and attitude worthy of the First King. He is rarely seen in this form, mostly because he almost never visits the mortal realm or even get close enough to a human where he needs a disguise.

His battle form is an Egyptian griffin, a creature of royalty and might which tramples its enemies into the ground. This is a hard transformation to pull off, and it comes with a handful of unique advantages – the most important being able to swallow regular-sized demons in whole, and having an iron hide that provides stellar defense against physical attacks. So far only Ra is capable of turning into a griffin… however, Horus, being the ever stubbornly optimistic kid he is, has also decided to achieve this goal one fine day.

That is, if he can get Ra to teach him….
