I always wanted an umbrella like this when i was little X3 (actually, i still want one, i just dont know where to get them)I really dont know whats going on in the picture, its just some random concept i came up with that doesnt make any sense ^w^ if anyone can come up with some sort of explanation of a story behind it, ill give you a prize XD
used: copics, white paint marker
time taken: around 5 hours? (maybe more)
i tried really hard on this, and id really like to know what i can improve on, so it would be awesome if people could tell me thier honest opinion of my work ~

The cuteness and randomness in this pic mix so well together, it's wonderful! ^^ I love those gears and clock tower. I'm guessing the boy wants an umbrella like that but time flew by and now he doesn't have that umbrella anymore...? I'm bad at interpreting pictures, haha. XD

i used to have one of those umbrellas. But it got blown inside out and broke

This is so cute! It reminds me of today when someone was carrying a pikachu umbrella.
I really like how you drew the wheels (don't know how else to describe it) and the clouds. Great job on the boy and his stuffed rabbit, too, but I think his right leg looks a bit off. It bends over the edge of his shorts in a strange way. Very good picture overall, though!

I know a girl in one of my classes who has an umbrella like that. Not sure where she got it though XD.
This picture is really cool, and the shading is done quite nicely
As for advice, I noticed that the legs are a bit short, buuuut, that's going by normal human proportions so it's most likely a style thing. Then, as othe people have pointed out, the boy's left arm is a bit long.

Hmm... a story you say?
One day it was a curious boy's birthday. So his parents gave him a frog to inspect with his curiosity. The frog turned into an umbrella. Then the curious boy flew to the land of clocks and timework. The end.

Ok. Here goes.
I believe that his right arm seems a tad to short in comparison to his left, in which case the forearm seems to make it appear a little bit too long. I'm not sure if that's the case, it's hard to tell with this picture.
I think that his calves are not shaped enough, this also applies to some of your other drawings, the thighs are fine but the calves resemble a pipe too much.
The colouring is beautiful, however the black cloud in the top right corner seems too heavy in contrast with the cool grey ones. Maybe try to cut down with your use of black, instead you can use dark greys, in my opinion black can look lifeless and dull, not to mention overpowering of other colours.
Over all this is just my opinion.

thats awesome! i think the only thing id have to say is maybe the arm holding the umbrella is a little long, but that could just be the perspective of it, and im not good at perspective so its probably ok XDbut i love this picture, its so awesome!

Sorry, but wrong, the forearm is just a little wrong, it has nothing to do with perspective because there is no perspective in the picture. The person is not being viewed from above nor beneath, therefore proportions (if helena used them) can be applied normally. XD I sound like a critic
