Here's another piece regarding Percyfan's interview with Mark Risley. This time, regarding Mr. Funny's lack of speech. According to Mark, one of the producers, Kate Boutillier, said that the reason why that Mr. Funny doesn't speak normally was because she didn't want him and Mr. Scatterbrain "clash". Here's the problem with that. Was Mr. Funny going to sound exactly like Mr. Scatterbrain in terms of voice or dialogue? There weren't any further explanations to it.

There's also another problem, throughout the series, Mr. Scatterbrain sometimes performs acts that seem way too similar to not just Mr. Funny, but Mr. Silly and Mr. Nonsense as well. Heck, even Little Miss Scatterbrain did NOT do such gimmicks.

If you're wondering why Mr. Funny is talking in this. The ONLY reason he didn't talk was only because of Mr. Scatterbrain. But why would you give him characteristics from those other three Mr. Men? If you wanted someone to be the funny one, you could've added in Mr. Silly or Nonsense in the 1st season. I understand Kate's inspiration behind Mr. Funny but c'mon, that doesn't mean you have to make him a complete mime because he's too similar to Scatterbrain. You could've at least had him talk a little. You could've thought some really funny jokes for him to say to other characters. I think it would've been more fair if he had combined characteristics with both Harpo and another Marx brother, since only 5 of them existed. Or maybe another comedian that isn't a Marx brother. Plus, 3 comedic Mr. Men exist.

My idea for Mr. Silly and Mr. Nonsense would be for them to have traits like the other Marx brothers. Again, I would combine Harpo and another one to Mr. Funny, just to make things fair. One episode he would not speak at all and in one he would talk.

It kinda urks me that no one seems to notice this. Other peoples revamps of Silly and Nonsense had to be toned down so they wont be a Mr. Scatterbrain copy, when in fact they came first. I feel like I am the only person who notices these flaws and talks about it.

And no, I'm not being a big hater who dislikes the new version of Mr. Funny nor am I trying to stir up ancient drama. I'm not hating on Mr. Scatterbrain either, I'm just weirded out by one of his traits. This is a more expanded opinion.
