DUDE! That is awesome! Did you make that?
Yes, apparently my whiteness has infiltrated my comments too...

Awesome! Though I suspect that it's gotta be cold as hell to wear in the winter (especially apparently sans-bra).

Okay, give me specifics... Metal type? Solder? gas used in the torch? Estimated completion time?

Yeah it's way cold whenever you first put it on, but it usually warms up after awhile.

The top's only aluminum, and it didn’t involve any soldering. Chainmail usually just involves opening n closing the separate links. I have no clue how long it took since i worked on it sporadically.

Ohhh, okay, I thought you had soldered the links closed. What gauge aluminum wire did you use?

And I don't know how to ask this without sounding like a perv, but have you ever worn it in public? 'cause it's just a bit... err, translucent?

I'm a bit to lazy to solder each link. I mainly used gauges 14 and 16.

I haven't worn it anywere besides my house for that same reason. But I like it none the less.

I don't use MSN near as much as AIM, mainly because I have a friend I met on DevArt that I converse nearly nightly with on it. I don't even if that was legitimately a sentence. But yes, I do have MSN.

Right now, though, if I were going to make any kind of clothing or accessories out of metal, I'd like to make gauntlets. I already know how to sew basic ones together from cloth and readymade gloves, as I did that for my Death costume for this past Halloween (Carlotta Street Block Party ftw). But I always thought it would be awesome to be able to parry blades and the like with something on my arms.

That would be pretty cool. I've thought about making chainmail gloves before but the fingers always look awkward to me. And I haven’t figured out how to correct that yet (besides using extremely small gauge wire).

You ever try making fingerless gloves? Those look way cooler to me. Like, the ones that come up past your knuckles, to that first joint?

I have some gloves like that, but when I use them at the gym, they leave this black shit all over my hands, and I can't work on any physical art until the black stuff washes off.

I prefer that type too, but aren’t the gloves too thick at the web of your fingers? They just look a bit uncomfortable that way to me.

Nah, not really. Maybe the kind I wear are a bit thinner in the fingers than yours are.
