Beautiful shot
I love the purple tones of the plant,
They really work well with the little frog

Oh gosh, for the longest time, I was staring at this.. and I thought, what the heck, it's like, a plant with a fungus on it or something... yippee.. then i full-viewed it, and i SEE the FROG haha
something I was first attracted to was how vivid the colours were around this bland frog, it's such an interesting contrast, i love how those deep purple leaves just blend into the black background.. nice capture it's fun to look at!

Thanks!

Surprisingly, I didn't see the frog until after I was taking pictures of the plant, because it blended right in. So you're not alone--I was more occupied with the colors of the plant, because it almost looks like a rainbow--and I've never seen a plant like that before.

Gray tree frog. It doesn't blend in well enough with that plant. They'd blend in a lot better with the moss on the bark of trees. It's why they have such beautiful and intricate patterns

Indeed, it doesn't exactly blend in and I have seen them on the trees down in VA, but for some reason, it liked the plant, possibly because of the water source, as the picture was taken in the summer.

Probably. Was this picture taken during the day?
The plant could also possibly attract a food source of theirs?
I love frogs

It was taken during mid afternoon, I believe.

And I'm not sure if the plant attracts a food source or not, as it isn't native to VA, but it was definitely shady, compared to the overhead sun.

But, I do know that it held water very well, because it had a lot of crevices where after watering, would keep the moisture for days at a time. It's possible that the water attracted gnats and flies, so perhaps it was just lying in wait of such insects.

Awesome.

frog psychology is interesting. By the way. I designed a 10 gallon terrarium with eco earth, moss and slate and sticks n stuff. It's really cool. Tomorrow if it's sunny out, perhaps I'll take a picture so you can get to see it
