Like I said back some time ago, I'm not sure if they actually made a comic of where Marsupilami meets his LMFL (Love Mate For Life), Marsupilamie (aka Nami), but I imaged that it'll be something like the story of Blu & Jewel's story in "Rio."

So what better recast for "Rio" than the Marsupilami cast (from the Disney and Spirou); And the story doesn't have elements from the first Rio movie, but also the second one.

Cast:

*Mars as Blu- Marsu is a lot like the blue macaw in so many ways. From the care-free personality, sarcasm, and love of parties and anything party related (music, dancing, food, etc.).
Even Mars's origin is a lot like Blu's, only Mars was able to learn the usage of his long tail at a much faster paste and younger age than Blu trying to fly.

*Nami as Jewel- I assume that Marsupilamie (Nami) was a captivity animal just like Jewel in her past life before she met her mate.
And just like Jewel, Nami's relationship with Mars didn't start out great (because she might've bonked Mars on the head in their first encounter, and was peeved that Mars thought that they were gonna breed on their first day).

As a bonus, it's also ironic that both Jewel and Nami wear flower head-dresses on their merchandise selves than they do in their actual shows/comics/movies.

*Bibi, Bobo, and Bibu as the Macaw Triplets- And wouldn't you know it, just like Blu & Jewel, Mars & Nami ended up having triplets too (only Blu and Jewel have 2 girls and 1 boy, while Marsu and Nami have 2 boys and 1 girl).

However, like the Macaws, the Marsu triplets don't appear until the end/epilogue of the story line.

*Spirou & Zaoki as Linda & Tilo- The roles of Linda & Tilo are gender-bent in the case with Spirou and Zaoki, because Spirou (like Linda) discovered and raised Mars as a travel companion and pet until he set him free. And for the fact that "Marsupilami" is a spin-off of "Spirou."
While Zaoki is the exotic half of the couple.

So instead of a red-head woman and a Brazilian man, it's a red-head man and a Brazilian woman (or whatever Zaoki is from ).

*Aries as a Roberto/Nigel fusion- I make Aries play as some sort of character that has similarities of Roberto & Nigel.
Like Roberto, Aries is portrayed as a love-rival in Mars & Nami's relationship; and like Nigel, Aries is the secondary antagonist and was raised in captivity.
According to Aries' profile, it was him that was suppose to bred with Nami, not Mars, but the researchers got the profiles wrong and ended up selecting Mars as Nami's mate (because "Mars" and "Aries" the same name depending on where one lives).

So Aries' goal was to terminate Mars and take back Nami as his mate, but he and Mars strength are equally matched despite the fact that Aries is physically stronger than Mars.

(Spoilers) And just like Roberto & Blu, Aries' rivalry with Marsu ended and they became friends, but Aries ended up finding a mate of his own, Venus the black (female) Marsupilame; While Roberto doesn't get one...

*Maurice & Spip as Pedro & Nico- Playing the roles of the Blue Sky's answer to Timon & Pumbaa, are Mars's two best buddies from both universes, Maurice the Gorilla from the Disney cartoon and Spip the Squirrel from the "Spirou" comics.

Maurice is Pedro because he's the big and heavy one and has a deep voice; And Spip is Nico because he's the little guy with the big voice and attitude.

*Stewart as Rafael- For the role of the match-maker and father figure of the protagonist, I picked Mars's other "best buddy" Stewart (aka Stewie) as Rafael. (I still swear that Stewart is a prototype of Tantar from Disney's "Tarzan." )

And since the Marsu triplets appear in the end & epilogue, (just like their daddy) they call Stewart, "Uncle Stewie"

Last and really least.....

*Norman & the Poachers as the Bird Rustlers (Thieves and Collectors)- They are the main villains of Marsupilami, and have the same personalities as the bird rustlers (vicious and greedy, yet bumbling and gullible).

And the four poachers and the three rustlers have one of the same goal, stealing rare animals and exchange them for money.

Though I'm not sure who is the true leader of the poachers in this media-crossover quarte ....
