Description
*I grew up watching reruns of this old Hanna-Barbera show as much as the other HB related shows they aired on Boomerang & Cartoon Network when I was little.*Just felt like drawing them to help wash away the bad tastes the trailers & the Five Nights at Freddy's bootleg of a film left in some/most people's & fans' mouths.
(Seriously! The stupid SyFy TV movie has taken over the video searches of these guys. It's like you're looking forward to make yourself a good sandwich, only to find out the bread has gone all moldy. )
*For those who may be wondering who is who in the Splits & their personalities:
Fleegle the Beagle, the self-appointed leader and oddly enough is the only one not based on an African mammal (and shares the same lisp as a certain bouncy toy tiger).
Drooper the Lion (my favorite character), named for his extraordinary long tail. He may look like a beatnik and sound like a country guy, but Drooper is actually the more smarter Split with a sharp tongue (heck, he's the only one that has his own email account & advice column) & is the one that writes most of the band's songs.
Bingo the Chimp, the typical goofball of the four that argues a lot with Fleegle & acts like he's the "cool one" (and he reminds me of a cartoon orangutan that I think is the inspiration/idol of this chimp).
Snorky the Elephant (another favorite of mine), is the Harpo Marx of the quartet (only he's a total cinnamon roll). Meaning that he's a mute & communicates throw honking & his actions speak louder than words.

I remember watching this on Boomerang with my mom. (one of the few good times we had when I was younger)
The horror film (which I can understand doesn't suit everyone) was what made me remember watching the show as a child.

I hate to say this but I actually learned of the original series from the movie. Never heard of it before then. Apparently it was one of the more obscure Hanna-Barbera series by far.
Though I did some research on how the original was like, and some of the stuff they got wrong made me dislike the movie more (like I saw the original Banana Splits usually took place on like a real Carnival Grounds instead of a Show Stage, and didn't have as much reoccurring non-animal-costumed characters). Not to mention the movie gets the production company all wrong and forgets that the series was cancelled in 1970 (long before we had IPhones and Livestreaming Services).
That movie was bizarre, and I can see why you made this. Though I'm not a fan of the complaint of "It turned something nice and happy into scariness." So what?
BTW on that note, ever seen Shed 17? What did you think of that one?

I don't see these guys as evil killer FNAF bots. I see them as the cheerful and funny characters who were there to make us laugh and smile.
So what? SYFY had to make them into monsters? Why not use the ACTUAL FNAF characters instead of butchering these lovable guys!? It just doesn't make any sense!

I agree with you there, a totally different original animatronic animal band would've worked over just using the Banana Splits. What really made me mad though, was when I did research on them (Since I never saw the original show), and saw how much they got wrong. Like the original Banana Splits took place on like a wide-open Carnival Ground instead of an indoor stage, and they also didn't use the right Production Company either!

Yeah it's just back then I liked Syfy's original monster movies but now...they are starting to get ridiculous. Heck they even made a Critters movie and to be honest, I liked it but the ending could have gone better.

I think Warner Bros. destroyed the Banana Splits' image by making them into homicidial robots. They're suppoused to be happy, friendly and playful just like they did. I saw The Banana Splits on Cartoon Network in my preeteens and liked the show and was horrified when I watched the trailer for that trash picture (and I'm not into horrors anyway except for Alien). Hope it will flop big time.
