Kain 's OCI needed to try out the new sketch pad and see how it did. Wasn't sure if I was even going to finish this one, because I was mostly just playing around with it, seeing how the paper reacted to different things, but then I decided I liked it enough to try and finish it. Well, that and I wanted to braid Kain's hair.

Well, it took me quite a while to get to this point. You can see my progress if you look back through my gallery. I'd say keep at drawing and set goals for yourself. I'm still learning myself, and pushing myself to go further, and learn more with each drawing I do.

Still not sure about that new paper, but I'm still pretty pleased with how this turned out, considering all the experiments I did with it along the way, hehe. And it was fun braiding his hair.

I'm still really unsure about that paper. It doesn't take the pencil quite right, and it's really hard to get things as black as I like them on it.

Better quality drawing paper, hehe. I'm sure most people would love it, but I like the way the cheap stuff took pencil. Unfortunately they were OUT of the cheap stuff, and I had to get something, because I'm nearly out of paper (like three sheets of the old stuff left).

Oh. Cheap things are sometimes surprisingly good, I usually draw on normal sheets of paper, nothing special but I invest in pencils, it worth ^^

Oh yeah, I'm really fussy about my pencils and erasers, and all the other tools, but I found this one cheap paper that has just the right texture. It's rough enough to take pencil well, and darkly, and yet smooth enough to blend well, and smoothly too. The craft store doesn't even sell it though. I can only get it at the local department store...though I'm guessing I could probably order it online.

Yes it would be the easiest way but maybe this is a perfect opportunity to try something new, for example, colored paper or something

It's not even so little time, just so little drive right now. I mean, I WANT to draw, but when the time comes, I just stare at the page, and feel uninspired. Sooo frustrating. I'm still trying to get stuff drawn, but I can feel the lack, if that makes sense.

It wouldn't be a very long break. I just feel like maybe I shouldn't have any drawings I HAVE to get finished for a week or two. I mean, I still have that AT to finish, and that one is stressing me the most, because I really want to do a good job on it, but I don't feel like I'm doing well on it at all.

I really appreciate that. Actually, one of the first guys that flashed up in the video made me feel better about the way I draw dark hair. Sometimes I start to think everything I do looks terrible, ya know?
