Description
My second art trade with of her character Mint.I originally planned to color his hair as well, but I liked it better with just his eyes, since it makes them stand out so much more!
I hope you like it!!

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry that somehow it looks exactly like the reference. It's not meant to, I swear I changed most all of it to match the character, but....it was too perfect a reference...made me feel like a cheater or something. Shoulda gone with something less perfect, but...how do you talk yourself into that when you find something that matches the character so beautifully??
Picked a much more difficult reference for the next one! Hahah.

Well this time I can't really take all the credit. The photo I was working from was outstanding!! In fact, I had to FORCE myself to change more than I wanted to from what it looked like in the reference, because he was just too perf! Hahah.

I only colored his eyes (and attempted to color his hair). The rest I finished before reinjuring my shoulder....not that I didn't do a teeny bit on the next drawing last night as well, but....

Anyway, I know I seem to say this everytime but seriously your shading is so impressive! Love the way you just added color to the eyes as well, it gives a very nice effect. The hair looks wonderful too!

I can't even tell you how excited I am to be drawing again. I've started the third one, and provided that my shoulder will be forgiving, I'm gonna keep going. Hopefully by the time I'm through all the art trades, I'll be used to drawing again and can just keep rolling with it. Finally draw some of my own boys again.
I was gonna do his hair green...you can see that his hair is supposed to be green. I had it about half way colored and had found something that worked, but...it lost all the intensity in his eyes. The whole thing grey tones, his eyes glowed. His eyes green everything else grey tones, and they glowed. But as soon as the hair was green as well....eyes were pretty, but they were just there...not sure why it worked that way. Oh well.
