Wow...if you think that due to this model (the only one in my gallery I'm honestly not happy about), then I dunno what you'll think of me when I redo it better...

Why thank you! Though to be honest, this isn't really my best work. Many of the other ones I've uploaded recently are much better. I'm glad you like them though!

nice. you finished it. only prblem is "messy"
My paper ripped during the step "pleat while squashing the top portion", then I only tried it once for a challenge from 20 cm papeer, but I wasn't able to see a single crease, so I never attempted again.........

Ya, it did turn out messy, but I find I have that problem with all of the most complicated models (where I'd put the majority of Kamiya's models). the problem is mostly that while I'm working on a particular section the rest tends to unravel a bit, so I'm developing methods of holding it all in place while I do that. The only way I'll get better is to keep trying and try to get neater each time.
And ya, 20cm seems really small for a project like this. I would say at least 35cm-40cm here, but I also have big fingers...your milage may vary.

and this.

and why exactly do you think that box pleating a joke?do you know that the best of the designers(even KAMIYA!!!!!(see [link] )) use it? I use it so much, it has never given me problems. almost all of the models you see here are box-pleated.

By joke, I did not mean that it is to be ridiculed or of less value that anything else. I meant that I now find it easy to do when I used to find it hard. like when you ahve a magic trick explained to you, you can see the "joke" behind it. I have the utmost respect for all of the techniques I use, trust me on that, and for all the people who come before me who I'm mostly just imitating at this point.
And in all honesty, I have no idea how to fold things that small.I would love to, but seriously, no idea. Like, do people use tweezers or something? I can't even think of how to sink or squash things at that scale and have it turn out so neat.

About "joke":Misinterpretation. Haha, you see, normally, "joke" has a different meaning, as you said: mean that it is to be ridiculed or of less value that anything else> so,we are not on disagreement :-D

It probably would, except that the only paper I can get this big isthis brown colour. It would also look amazing in gold, but ya...same problem. none big enough.
It was indeed quite the challenge, but the mor eof these that I do, the mor eI'm seeing certain patterns and stuff form. Like my current project used a lot fo the same steps that I used for the parabolic hyperbolas and for bahamut, so I just look at the first step and I can guess the next bunch, you know? box folding and pleating are almost a joke to me now.

Thanks! I mean, I'm getting that a lot from everyone, so maybe I'm just setting the bar too high for myself or something. Like I have a feeling that I'm always going to find flaws in what I do. And admittedly, it's not like everyone has the patienc to sit down and do this, right?
So how're things going down south man?

You should! It's a great exercise in despair and hopelessness. It seemed like the pages of instruction would never end. On the other hand, once it was done it was the best moment in my week!

I need a much bigger sheet of paper too.
Eventually I'll get one done.
I'm still stumped on the Lang Black Forest Cookoo Clock.
(step 14 always get me on his stuff.)
Bahumut's on step 5

Man, I have so much left in the square-sheet area that I haven't even begun to look at the possibility of the non-square stuff yet! Though at some point, now that I know where to to get long paper that clock is on my list! Maybe over my next vacation or something.
