This is just a digital colouring I've done to a scan of the Rose of Versailles Manga. I've watched almost the whole anime series, only around 15 of the 40 complete episodes that I haven't seen yet. Its the most gorgeous anime ever IMHO. It is set in late 1700's France (just before the french revolution) And follows 30 yrs of Oscar's and life. The awesome thing about this anime/manga is that they were done in the 70's and revolutionized Shoujo manga, it is responsible for many conventions used in anime today as well being steeped in beautiful imagery and symbolism.*wipes tear from eye* Plus Oscar's a girl, who was raised as a boy because her Dad had already had a million daughters and really wanted a son. Thus, raised as a boy. Just an effin cool character.

lol yes, I did not draw this. The style, like Escaflowne, you have to get used to. As it was created in the 70's, its kinda dated in that regards. Theres another manga pic below to see another angle.

Its very shiny, but once again, its art style set the basis for current shoujo-manga.
