This image is dedicated to all those poor skinny models who get nasty comments on their pictures, like FEED YOUR MODEL A SANDWICH I CAN SEE HER RIBS! (I'm so hilarious, rite?) It isn't nice to judge. Just because she's skinny doesn't mean she has an eating disorder. Just because I'm not doesn't mean I'm lazy. I won't judge you guys. Don't judge me, either.I'm doing a new project - #100ThemesChallenge - because I need something to do. Also something without a time limit or pressure so I don't get all crazy like I did with 365.
So I'm doing Variation 1 for now and I'll update it when I update it.NOW.
The INTRODUCTION. I just wanted to say hello and give you a glimpse into my life at 9am, and show off what a classy girl I am. Off camera, I was also eating a bowl of chili with tortilla chips and drinking beer. Don't look at me like that - I'm nocturnal. I get home from work at 6am. Having a beer in the morning isn't as scandalous as it sounds.
Also, I bought those fabulous glasses when I couldn't stop listening to Lady GaGa for a while. She inspires me. haha.

It's funny because when I saw the small version of this before I clicked on it I was thinking, "Hey, I have that shirt! But I don't fill it out as nicely as she does." lol Lovely curves, I adore them. I wish I had more of them. But we just have to love what we're given, right?

It says critique requested, so here goes.
First off, that light (or mirror, it could be a mirror) in the background is terrible. Terrible terrible terrible. Sometimes you can get away with that, especially if you've got a circular filter or a star filter and you're doing some sort of rock star point light effects, but that's not what's going on here. The huge amount of information that is clipped by that reflection destroys every pixel around it, making the image look washed out and flat. In addition the white balance suffers and casts the whole image in a sickly yellow color. Ewww, sickly yellow.
The composition is bog standard centered subject with just the slightest bit of interesting in your pose and the tongue action. Once the eye is done being assaulted by that huge white thing, it naturally follows the lighter flesh tones in to your cleavage. If that's what you were going for, good job.
I'm not sure what else to say about this. Maybe next time, move so your head is blocking the light from being right in the lens. Shoot somewhere you've got more light. Use an off-camera flash, or, diffuse the on-camera flash.

Anyway, I personally like the lighting (not the light itself though, you're right), and as for the yellow, my monitor is currently screwed up so I may not be seeing the same thing you are. When it's repaired I'll have to reprocess of a lot of photos from the past few months and this may be one of the ones suffering from it. Everything looks super saturated and dark for me so I have to kind of assume how it looks and guess if I've got it how I want it.
This is not a profound perfect clean studio portrait, it's intended to be messy and cluttered and real. I think about these things and I posted it because for the most part I wanted it this way. It's part of a project. It's experimental. It's supposed to be silly. I don't get too hard on myself over it cause it wasn't meant to be serious.
But thank you, I do appreciate it, even though I think you're over-seeing it a little. I'll try better lighting with the flashes and stuff one day when I can afford one. haha.

If it weren't for that light in the background, your lighting would be pretty even and smooth.
As for your monitor, yeah, that's a huge thing. You've got to make sure your monitor is calibrated otherwise no one is going to see what you're seeing. I ended up doing a whole wedding on the wrong color space, and while everything looked fantastic on my end, the client thought they looked like steaming piles of hamster vomit. I figured out the problem but I had to reprocess and color correct about 200 images. D'oh!
As for the cluttered background, yeah, its cluttered. Its raw. Its American Teenager messy bedroom chic. Buuuut, I got nothing against it.
Seriously, if you hadn't been all HUURRRF DUUUURRRF in your face the picture wouldn't work.

I've tried calibrating it but it's just broken, I'm getting it fixed soon. The obvious thing to do would've been just hold off on posting anything for a while but I was too impatient, since it's been this way for a few months.
