I think there are too many different morphiological differences for the dragons to be the same species of different ages or genders. In fact the Jakyls look like baby versions of the main gray dragons. Just with undeveloped wings.

Well, look at the butterfly, and such a diverse genetic makeup for any one species isn't all that unusual in nature. No reason why these dragons could be all that different.
BTW, I found an in-game screenshot of a Jakyl that shows that it is, in fact, built quite unlike the other "species": [link] Admittedly, there is another I have seen that shows what appears to be vestigial wings on the Jakyl's wrists.

I see what you mean. Im just agaisnt spitfire and the normal greys to be of the same speices. For example, i see the normal greys, the orange one with bull horns, and the large tanks to be of one genus at least. because the only thing that differs is probably size, horn structure, abilities, and color.
As opposed to spitfires whom are greatly different in that they have 3(and not 2) fingers on each hand, only one extended finger, a very fragile built body compared to the other dragons, and a very narrow, almost beak-like, head compared to the rest. which would have evolved long before the current time period. making them different species.
See, thats the pic that i based my idea that they're are simply juvilles. the heads are the same but with reduced horns, their arms have under-developed wings, and the legs and tail are fine.

I haven't played in a while, so I've been going off screenshots and my memory to get their anatomy right in my mind. To me, it just seems odd that several different species of dragons would just up and unite against the human race, especially in such a coordinated manner.
Ah, you've seen it already. Wasn't sure. LOL
I made a Notepad document a while back for fun that explained the dragons and their relationships in my view. Here it is in a DA Journal: [link] . The dragons' names are for the most part the actual names given to them by the game's creators, though some of the trivial bits of info, like egg gestation time, I just made up to make it all flow a bit smoother.

They resemble the spitfires from the reign of fire game. Cool design, but annoying little bastards. Think of flying raptors. One won't do any real damage, but they never come in ones, or twos, or threes, or...

So, these are basically draon goombas?

hmmm... I like the design, but I think the areal view makes it look rather small... before reading the description, I figured this creature would be perhaps a few feet long, but in order for you to impress uppon it's gargantuian size, you should try drawing it from a perspective in which you are looking up at the dragon, as that often makes the subject seem more imense.

you're right, I'm actually think of reducing its size to something more feasible. Also I could just add a human silhouette for comparison. But thanks.
