Description This is a Drawing I've had for a while, but have been too afraid to show till now.
I made this Drawing because I used to be a Sonic Fan.
This is the Character that originally caught my interest in Art.
Today, Sonic is known for being a has been.
My idea was to create a Sonic that was known for it's original attitude.
Instead of being overly friendly and cheery, he should be cocky and rebellious.
Just like how the original Sonic was.
Completely opposite of a Mario Character.
Sonic Team has always tried to correct there mistakes since Yuji Naka left Sega but kept falling short which I'm not angry about because it's hard to make Titles when the leader leaves.
I do however still respect Sega for trying to make good Titles even if I don't like them.
I've always wanted to re create the Sonic scene, but since it's impossible to do, I've decided to just display it to show others where I think the Sonic Franchise should go next.
Possibly Voiced by Michael J Fox?
Just kidding.
Unless anyone else like's that Idea.
Well, here's the final frontier of Sega's Priceless Mascot.
With Muscular Leg's to support his speed and a hankering for not Chili Dogs, but a Hedgehog's real favorite food, Meal worms, I present to you.

The Live Action, Sonic The Hedgehog!

If a movie of this was released, I guess Alexandre Desplat would do an epic soundtrack? What do you think?

I think, Andrew Garfield should voice him and John Goodman playing Dr Eggman

Andrew Garfield for sure would be awesome as Sonic, Though I think Ben Kingsley would suit Robotnik better.

Or Ben can portray Eggman how he looked in 2006

Nah, Ben is to thin to be Robotnik. and for Knuckles I Think Diedrich Bader would voice.

Hmm, Interesting choice. I am kinda stuck on who should be Knuckles. I suppose they could give Kingsley at fat suit.

Mmmhmm. But I Think Goodman suits because whenever he screams/shouts, it makes me laugh

Hmm, Goodman could actually work. He could potray Eggman/Robotnik's eccentric behaviour effectively.

Emma Stone maybe. I really can't really think of anyone aside from her and the other voice actresses who played Amy.

I really can't think of anyone else really who could play Amy. What would happen if Shadow was played by say... Tom Hiddleston?

Thanks again!
I think this one worked a little better than the Knuckles Image.
This Image kinda catches more of Sonic's heroic side and concern for the fate of others.
But I would still want him to be a cocky jackass sometimes, LOL!

It scares me. It scares me muchly. lol

You asked me what I thought (and thanks for the fave on my own live action!), so here goes... The reason why I don't think this works is because I believe the transition between cartoon and live action means making the character believable. Making a cartoon "real" is hard to do. Alvin and the Chipmunks movie, for example, based the characters' anatomy closer to real world chipmunks, Underdog became an actual dog in a human world, etc etc. I suppose the above could definitely work the same way that the Ninja Turtles were brought to life in the three live action movies of theirs. Yeah, that could work, although for Sonic it would be CGI special effects, of course, instead of a man in a rubber suit. Anyway, I wanted to give some serious feedback, but this is just my opinion. Hope it was thought provoking and in no way annoying.

And hotdogs are like big, processed meal worms, right? lol

P.S. - I love Michael J. Fox (you know, as an actor). Not sure if he could do Sonic justice, though, but I find that thought very intriguing (and much better than the game and Sonic X voice actors already). I can hear him yelling, "DOC!!!" at Robotnik right now, ha ha.

Yeah, you do have a point on that.
It's really an intimidating feet to try to reinvent a Character that people have there own unique ideals about.
The big problem with the Chipmunks is that they made them tiny.
These characters would be waist high compared to humans (just like the real characters).
My original explanation was that Eggman, Robotnik, whoever you want to call him 15 years ago was in an alternate dimension sitting in the same exact place as earth.
The dimension he was in was called, Yes, Mobius.
Anyway, he would set up traps, those things you push down on after you beat Eggman and animals come out, to collect in order to create the ultimate mind controlled creatures to do as he said, but much animals failed or died.
Project 725 was a project to create a Creature that could bust through barriers, have incredible speed, agility, and to be able to access areas that no human can ever enter.
They called this Experiment, Experement 725, Codename, Project Sonic.
Eggman placed an average Hedgehog into a sealed room containing classified Material causing a Creature to be Hyper Evolved.
Being modified and changed blue, the experiment was a success.
Except for one thing.
Eggman Mind control serum failed.
Unable to contain him, the experiment fleed only to find himself falling out of the Death Egg.
15 years later, it goes on, bla bla bla, you get it.
Thanks again for the comment, and I hope to post some more soon. Non related to Sonic and Related.

Nice. It was odd that in the game series Robotnik's grandfather created Shadow, who was pretty much the same as Sonic. Anyway, sounds great. My other theory as to Sonic's origin, or at least that of his speed, involved the Chaos Emeralds.

kevdemed1 In reply to CartoonistWill [2010-03-19 19:21:55 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah.
Maybe instead of Chemicals, they were altered with one of the Emeralds Robotnik had on him and figured out how to use the Emerald to manipulate them.
That's a good idea man!

CartoonistWill In reply to kevdemed1 [2010-03-23 00:20:46 +0000 UTC]

Right. It would make sense. In the games a hedgehog was used during Project Shadow because it was discovered that genetically hedgehogs are the most compatible hosts for Chaos Energy on the planet. However for Project Shadow that wasn't enough to harness the true power of the Chaos Emeralds and Dark Arms alien DNA was spliced together to create the creature that is Shadow the Hedgehog. Sonic's great speed, ability to use Chaos Control in SA2 with what I thought was a fake emerald, and Super Sonic ability is not explained. If other hedgehogs introduced to the games series displayed equal abilities, I'd consider it was because Sonic was a hedgehog, but however characters like Amy and Silver do not measure up to Sonic's great speed (although Chaos Control and the Super form are present in Silver). One theory is that Sonic himself was augmented by Chaos powers. Some Sonic comics and children's books claim that his shoes are the secret to his super speed, but while the game Sonic Labyrinth shows Robotnik replacing Sonic's shoes with shoes that were sealed with a curse making the wearer unbelievably heavy by using the Chaos Emeralds. Just some thoughts. Sonic has been seen to arguably change his shoes during the games, although this is not a major story plot and can arguably be seen only as an artistic change to the shoes he's always worn or to an equipment upgrade that can be explained as non-canonical within the story itself.
