Description My Re-imagining of Steam Smyth from the Ben 10 reboot.

As Gwen would continue to recruit more magic users for the plumbers, what she would soon wouldn't expect is to encounter evil users of the magical plain of Zoraster.

Gwen would come across a very vile dwarf known as Steam Smyth. At first, Smyth comes off as harmless. But seeing that he is against all forms of modern, progressive, futuristic technology and opposes the supporters. Gwen would stop at nothing to protect others from harm.

Steam was a dwarf, an Alchemist. He learned how to meld magic with clockwork technology. How he did it was through primitive means. His clockwork power tech is powered by synthetic rune stones known as "Fyre Rock" or "Magical Rocks" by Steam's tongue. Then, the Dwarfs were given a new technology to use to forge their alchemy. With his first utilization of the new tech, it suddenly blew up. With what little remained of him, the Dwarfs forged him a new body.

Hating any new technology, Steam would later integrate his alchemic tech onto him and start a journey to end new technology. Steam is the Believer of the old ways and he will do what he can to get what he wants. He has a complete hatred of new technology, seeing it as a replacement of the old things he made for his oldways.

His new tech is geared with the best tech he has built with his hands. He is capable of downing structures with his suit. Smyth can shoot hot steam from his pipes. He can heat up his entire body. His mechanical claw is capable of crushing the finest metals. And his suit is powered by "Magic Rocks". With the use of his Magical rocks,Β Steam is capable of using the most diverse magic.Β His hate can also turn into a drone and can turn into a cannon as a last resort.

Wow, I normally don't like Steam Smyth but you really made him better design and story wise. Also good idea with making him a Gwen villain.

Thanks. Yeah, I felt Gwen could use more villains seeing how she ties greatly into Zoraster.

You're welcome. With all these villains, I wonder how many are in Gwen's rogues gallery now.

This is one of the most fascinating, creative character reinventions I have ever seen. Everything about this screams creativity, from his origins on Zorastar to his power-set, which perfectly utilises his gimmick to its fullest potential.Β

In short, I absolutely love it.

I've never heard of this character up until just now, but I'll go out on a limb and say that your version is vastly superior to the one in-canon...

No problem.

Seriously, though, I haven't seen/heard great things about the new villains from the reboot(a lot of them are underwhelming at best)...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kevfilms2x2 In reply to Holycrap1992 [2017-07-22 01:36:45 +0000 UTC]

Sadly yes.

Honestly? The Villains look like they came out of the shitty PPG reboot (Who's villain look like they came out of Clarence).

It is sad to see how TTG would have much more better villains (even though they're stupid).

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Holycrap1992 In reply to Kevfilms2x2 [2017-07-31 22:54:52 +0000 UTC]

I blame that on the art style they went with(in both cases).

That's not saying much, considering they're basically just more cartoon-y versions of the villains from the original show...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

Shadow-DJ In reply to Holycrap1992 [2017-07-19 16:44:36 +0000 UTC]

VERY much XP In the Reboot, he's rather...ineffective since he doesn't try to show why his older tech is better since he doesn't seem to try and make it useful since the tech is FULL of glitches.

Heck, my take of this guy is meant to be Fistrick'sΒ rival in terms of the weapon's game and uses steam punk-styled weapons

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Holycrap1992 In reply to Shadow-DJ [2017-07-20 06:25:36 +0000 UTC]

Well, in their defense, it's pretty difficult to sell older technology as being superior to new tech in-general(outside of maybe being build to last for much longer), so they were already picking an uphill fight there...

Are they both weapons dealers, or just trying to one-up each other?...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Shadow-DJ In reply to Holycrap1992 [2017-07-20 06:28:13 +0000 UTC]

I mean like they're making him fight with useless antiques. I can maybe understand him using the STYLING of the era, not just digging up some old museum piece and expecting them to work 100%.

And yeah, both weapon dealers. In Steam's case, he makes steampunk weapons and armors.Β

Clearly, the writers didn't think this one through...

Cool.

Shadow-DJ In reply to Holycrap1992 [2017-10-19 06:36:43 +0000 UTC]

Heck, one idea is that he's actually using alien tech to make his technology work.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Holycrap1992 In reply to Shadow-DJ [2017-10-20 00:26:00 +0000 UTC]

If nothing else, it certainly would've helped to explain how he managed to make such outdated technology be on-par with today's tech...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Shadow-DJ In reply to Holycrap1992 [2017-10-20 00:31:32 +0000 UTC]

Outdated, yes...
But maybe he uses something that keeps it relevant? Such as alternative fuel sources and what not Basically he bases it not just from old crappy tech...

But the blue prints of famous geniuses of the past and even improves on their designs XP Basically to make them work XP

Mmm, nice. I am thinking of Steam SMythe being Fistirck's main rival in terms of weapon making in Undertown, using a steam-powered aliens.

Kevfilms2x2 In reply to Shadow-DJ [2017-07-20 00:07:14 +0000 UTC]

That's cool. If I can expand on it. He also sells and makes "Magical Rocks" (Synthetic Rune Stones). He is a big secret business man in Zoraster too, selling them to magic users.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Shadow-DJ In reply to Kevfilms2x2 [2017-07-20 01:59:53 +0000 UTC]

I am more thinking that he's a normal human...who worked at museum at a time but grew intrique towards osme old ideas and blueprints he found and wanted to make them work. Thsu becoming obsessed with steam punk
