My fiance thinks the same damn thing. Oh hey, that place is shady, but if it's still in business that must mean the food is amazing!

It's probably a front for some kind of drug ring or mafia hang out, but I hear they have great nachos!

WARNING! Carry on reading! Or you will die, even if you only looked at the word warning! Once there was a little girl called Clarissa, she was ten-years-old and she lived in a mental hospital, because she killed her mom and her dad. She got so bad she went to kill all the staff in the hospital so the More-government decided that best idea was to get rid of her so they set up a special room to kill her, as humane as possible but it went wrong the machine they were using went wrong. And she sat there in agony for hours until she died. Now every week on the day of her death she returns to the person that reads this letter, on a Monday night at 12:00 a.m. She creeps into your room and kills you slowly, by cutting you and watching you bleed to death. Now send this to ten other pictures on this one site, and she will haunt someone else who doesn't. This isn't fake. apparently, if you copy and paste this to ten comments in the next ten minutes you will have the best day of your life tomorrow. You will either get kissed or asked out, if you break this chain u will see a little dead girl in your room

Some of the best Chinese I've ever had is at a place next to the Food Lion in the "rough" part of town. The staff barely spoke English, it was deserted half the time, and it smelled like the hair salon next door. Their food was the best I've ever had. They eventually closed and now it's a shoe store. Remembering it makes me sad.

Last time I ate food out of a shady establishment like that (bus/train terminal in the South of England, just past midnight, sausage in a bun) I got food poisoning for the next three days.

For a relative's birthday last year, we went to a fancy restauraunt. My burger bun had mold on it, which I almost ate.

Come to think, I almost always order a burger of some sort from these places.

There is this awesome place in New York called Pok Pok in Brooklyn, it's about 20 minutes by foot from Flatbush, that doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is the best Thai I ever had.

GatzTdaMax [2015-01-21 04:23:09 +0000 UTC]

Strangely, I think there's some truth to this, if only because "the food is amazing" is the only reason such places stay in business long enough to get noticed...

For instance, there's aΒ family-runΒ restaurant for ChineseΒ food near me.Β  It's small enough toΒ earn the phrase "a hole in the wall," and the children doing homework at one of the few tables the place has speak better English than their parents back in the kitchen.Β  Despite all this, they're widely known to have some of the best takeout within 20 miles, and they have never gotten my order wrong despite there being a bit of a language barrier.

On the other hand, the last time I went to McDonalds, some dork forgot the "bacon" on my "Bacon & Cheeseburger"...Β  I rest my case. :/

See? THIS is why the Chinese are so pushy on education: they don't want their kids to forget the bacon.
