Description Digital painting.

Mostly inspired by the first movie's ambiance : dark, wet and claustrophobic. And it's the first movie's creature, too.

Original concept : H.R. Giger.

The original is usually the best. This image recalls all of the original terror, and macabre fascination. Nicely done.

Thanks. I love this mood in the first movie, really inspiring.

Agreed. They failed to ever recapture the effect. As much fun as Cameron's sequel was, it's a bit cartoonish by comparison to Scott's masterfully suspenseful thriller. Fincher's follow-up had gooe intentions, but was ultimately unsatisfying. They never made another Alien film, as far as I'm concerned.

Fincher's one was the closest from the first one, but the studio screwed it. And there was Alien : Resurrection, but definitively not the best one.

Yes, Fincher is a talented director, but on that project he may have been disrespected. The mistakes made with the story and characters were unforgivable, and taking the story backward to resemble the first film was not a good idea either. The biggest mistake was in keeping the story centered on Ripley (as much as I admire Sigourney Weaver).

I refuse to acknowledge ALIEN: RESURRECTION. Hahaha! Again, I think the director was grossly disrespected by a horrible script, and meddlesome producers. This time, of course, it was your countryman, Jean-Pierre Jeunet who was the unfortunate victim, along with the audiences.

Yeah. Fincher wanted a deep, dark movie, respectfull of the first one's thematics. Something Cameron didn't in Aliens. The extended version is really interesting about this. For Jeunet... well... the script is signed by Joss Whedon, and I've never liked him. I think the biggest mistakes in the movies are the creation of the Queen, and the "baby" Alien. That's why I considere Aliens as a Terminator sequel (it would have been cool), and Resurrection a cool science-fiction flick.

Yeah, that Hybrid alien was an offensively stupid idea. Here you have an amazing predatory species capable of spawning hundreds more, reduced to singular childbirth??? And this was an improvement??? In another dumb scene, they have caged aliens kill one of their number so that its acidic blood will melt an escape route. But later in the film, they show that an alien can simply spit acid blood to disable a victim. The film was an atrocious joke, not even worthy of being a guilty pleasure.

Merci. Je suis vraiment un fan de la mise en images du premier film. Ridley Scott est vraiment un des meilleurs rΓ©alisateurs qui soient.
