the shapes created by the light and the dark make this almost like a gouache painting, but it still retains the beauty and detail of a photograph. the composition is dynamic and calm at the same time because there are so many places that the eye is led to yet the model's intense innocence lends a calm atmosphere. however, i find the rings on her hand distracting and i feel that at best they don't add anything to the image. despite that small detail, it's an incredibly beautiful photo.
