Je l'ai abandonnée à Montmarte
Diseuses de bonne-aventure et la Vierge au mur
"Deux enfants pour vous" disait la Dame
"sur une période de quatre ans"
déposant une pierre dans ma main comme protection
même si je n'avais rien demandé

Oppressé par les fantômes des jours non écrits
J'ai marché pour me défaire de ces choses entrevues

Des enfants sans noms
d'une femme qui refuse son existence
Le ciel s'effondre en larmes
sur les Champs Élisées

Dans mon sac, un petit appareil photo d'amateur

Elle porte le nom d'un amie décédée
qui est venue a moi comme un cadeau dans le désert

Je n'avais pas réalisé jusqu'à maintenant
que demain
deux ans jour pour jour
serait l'anniversaire de son passage

En traversant la Passerelle Solferino
un éclair a déchiré les cieux
et sur la Place de la Concorde
s'est ajouté un second petit éclair
comme souvenir

et pour instant
le jour était rempli d'anges..."

I left her in Montmarte
Fortune tellers and mother Mary on the walls
'Two children for you' the Madame said
’in four years time’
and pressed a stone into my hand for protection
though none of it I asked for

Burdened with ghosts of unwritten days
I walked to dispossess myself of things half seen

children without names
from a woman who refuses to exist
and the sky crumbled to weeping
over the Champs Elysee

From my bag a tiny amateur camera...

It bore the name of a dead friend
that came to me as a gift in the desert

I didn't realize till then
but tomorrow
two years to the day
would mark the anniversary

So as I crossed the Passerelle Solferino
and the lightning tore the clouds
over the Place de la Concorde
to it was added a tiny little flash
for remembering

and for a moment
the day was filled with angels...
