God sends messages in strange ways. Yes, that is how I would take your collie friend, a messenger from God. He wanted you to see His beauty and might. --Erik

so,...like i'm drinking tonight. again.
it's been a long week. it usually is. but, this one a bit longer than usual.
and i'm looking at my watchlist. and i see this one piece called 'world's end' by
one of the most passionate artists i've found in recent memory.
i love that title.
i love that description.
it's all so haunting and famaliar.
i've been to a place vaguely similar that i too considered world's end.
and i walked out to the edge of it,...looked out at the vastness of it all.
and felt so small.
so very small.
it's scary to profoundly grasp one's place in the universe.
to actually see it with your own eyes.
to feel it in your heart and soul.
to stand at the edge and breathe it.
and it occurs to you that somewhere inside of you, there's a debate going on,...
to step back away from it,...
or to take one more step into it.
the irony is,...
i don't there's a right or wrong answer.
i don't have to continue telling you what i think of you work.
it makes me feel.
i thank you for that.

I can't thank you enough for all of that.....
I am saving it for my journal. I am really happy this piece evoked that. It's one I had always wanted to do, but never did. Like the one shirt in your closet that only you would like...

Yes that was a real story....and thank you. I haven't actually traveled in awhile, but that was an exceptional day. The dog was, still to this day, one of the most mysterious things to have occured in my life. It was surreal...like she was more than a dog. The one part I left out was when we were riding back, we lost her for a bit as we took a road I thought was the right one.... turns out it took us more than 2 miles out of our way. When we got back to where we were...the she was waiting for us and lead us back to town.... I'll post some of the shots of her in an alternate folder somewhere....

That's incredible. I don't think I've ever seen anything so frightening and beautiful at the same time. I wish that I could have been in the same place--although perhaps I would have been terrified.

After reading that description. I wanted more. I'm very fun of blue skies and clouds that look to come down and pick me up. Its really wonderful. But nowadays I doubt many people take the time to admire them. And at the same time. I love the clouds that roll in and blacken the sky. I admire it as much I do the happier sky. Hah, however there is a little fear. Well, perhaps a lot sometimes. The doom always comes to mind whenever I see super black clouds. But still I want to stand out somewhere in an empty lot and brace the winds.

Was this a traditional print?

I was holding my breath actually. The cliff was right below me.... Yes, it's "mostly" a traditional print. It's an oilgraph, but subtley so. If you look close you can see some traces of oil and that's what in fact what warmed it up.

Then shoot with your heart. Shoot what you love. As they say...shoot as if no one is watching (and if you aren't getting paid for it) Dedicate your life to it. Commit to it. Your art deserves nothing less....Your individual voice will emerge and that's what will seperate you from the herd.
Thank you again for all of your thoughts....
