As far as my thought process goes, that's a good question. Sometimes I start out, and I get so carried away with making these shapes or patterns that I forget to think for a minute about where I'm going with it. But I approached this work with a very specific idea in mind that I tried to carry out. I felt very influenced by a lot of collage work i've seen online, and that's what inspired the vintage texture to it. I wanted to surround the model in a variety of patterns and shapes that mesh together like a collage in a way that still draws your attention back to the woman. At first I wanted the patterns to appear as if they were painted onto her skin, but when I fell flat with achieving this effect I moved on and tried to make them stand out against the colours, which honestly is a scheme that took me ages to get that way, because I still wanted that balance of a traditional & vintage feel against a modern digital composition. And the reason why circles are so predominantly used is because I figured it would be the easiest way to create a nice flow for the eye to follow.
Honestly I loved working on this piece particularly because it was the first time in awhile where I felt like I had a real natural creative spark going on.
