Don't worry! Hiccup and Toothless take Astrid to the viking hospital in time! He's fine now and totally recovered of her shock!(astrid rocks, I didn't want to kill her ok?)
This is a crazy idea I had in mine for months. I could't help but show you X3 That's the secene when Astrid firts met Tooth, and almost killed Hic.
No more (free) christmas related pics from this year (except for gifts I have to do).

Was Santa a concept? Β Yes. Β It's kinda hard to pinpoint some of this stuff exactly but most people put Saint Nicholas at the 3rd to 4th centuries CE. Β Vikings were around from roughly the 8th to 11th centuries CE.Β
Did the Vikings know about Saint Nicholas? Β Probably, they did regularly raid Christain Churches and might have come across artifacts/the name.
Did they care? Β Probably not. Β Most historians agree that the vikings worshiped the Norse gods like Odin, Thor, Tyr, Baldur, etc (the movie, specials, and TV show even makes a point of using the names of some of the Norse gods over Christian or other religious figures). Β To them it was probably just another weird thing these weak, smelly Christains did (and yes, to vikings Christians would have been weak and smelly since Vikings typically bathed about once a week, which is a lot more often than most other civilizations and cultures of the time.)
Did the Vikings have a "Christmas" season? Β Sort of. Β It can be debating EXACTLY what they did, but it's known that they did at least celebrate the solstice and Yule (sometimes they coincide, depending on culture). Β Some Nordic Christmas traditions are actually callbacks to the Viking celebrations.
