In the spirit of RWBY Alternate, I made another Dark Yang. Really happy with how this one turned out.

Context:

I'd like to preface this that I love OG RWBY.

In RWBY Alternate however, Yang is a very different character. Unlike the original, where Yang is a loving and protective role model for Ruby. RWBY Alts Yang is a much more internally broken person. Despite being older and more skilled than her younger sibling, Yang is often 2nd best when it comes to Ruby, the prodigal Daughter of the Great Summer Rose. Although Ruby loves and respects her big sister, the 2 constantly argue, with Yang always looking for opportunities to one up her Sister, just so she can be acknowledged and respected.

Anyway, long story short, upon Ruby being declared leader of Team RWBY. Yang finally snaps.

To prove her dominance, she challenges Ruby to a duel under the pretense of a sparring exercise.

The duel begins with Yang just using one Blade to deflect Ruby's strikes with Crescent Rose. Overtime, Yang's strikes become increasingly forceful and filled with malice, pushing Ruby to stop holding back and fight for all shes worth. Its not just a sparring match anymore. Eventually Ruby gets the better of Yang, only for Yang to ignite her 2nd Blade and easily push Ruby back. At this point, Ruby is terrified and begs Yang to stop but she refuses, as she continues to relentlessly strike out at Ruby with fury. Eventually Ruby is exposed to a flurry of brutal attacks, sending her flying, disarmed and vulnerable. Yang then uses her surroundings to gain height and momentum, preparing to slam Ruby into the ground with incredible force. Ruby's semblance narrowly saves her from the fall but the impact breaks her Aura and many of her bones. The scene ends with Ruby in tears, using her only good arm to desperately shoot at Yang, the recoil gradually letting Ruby crawl away. Yang however would just coldly walk over, deflecting each bullet with ease, using just one of her Blades. As she stands over her sister, she's filled with unbearable rage, her eyes flare and shrink down, as her physical appearance fades from the Golden Sister to this new Dark Persona... She moves to drive her blade through Ruby's heart but ends up stabbing the ground near her neck. Yang recognises that despite how much she hates Ruby, she knows that if she had delivered the killing blow, her life would be so much worse. Ruby would become yet another Marty, making Yang the monstrous sister who murdered the beloved daughter of the great Summer Rose, an outcast. Instead, Yang chooses to relish in her triumph. The Champion who bested the Daughter of Summer Rose and sets off on her own path as Ruby is left heartbroken and in great physical pain.
