The original series is called 'Voltron: Defender of the Universe.' This character is from the original but he underwent
a massive redesign in the new reboot/reimagined series called 'Voltron: Legendary Defender.' It's being released
via Netflix and is a sharp, amazing remake.

Looks like it's still not the one I'm searching. In that one there was a young man recieving a glove that align to his hand a he could slice through a fallen tree. His teacher said "don't chop it like an axe, slice it". And the gloves start to glow as he cuts it.
That sort of stuff... There was a black liquid too that was evil and caused addiction too.

Yes! He seriously does! I thought he even had the same voice actor,
but was thinking of Finn from Adventure Time. Still, they're very similar,
and it's awesome.

If you do get the time (and enjoy sci-fi, space, cool battles, etc.), Voltron is worth
watching. Both seasons can be completed in a couple days. But no pressure xD

I find it as if it was from some sort of movie in which the character realizes his hand now has the power with him in times of need, when trouble occurs or when he feels that he can't overcome the challenge ahead of him and the glowing hand tries to signal him that he can do it, no matter how bad it will get. So the meaning behind it can fall in between if you ask me. =u Which is why I find glowing hands to be pretty cool ya know.
