Hey everyone, I was in between replies for emails about commissions and this happened. Again, another fanart of 's realistic fanart of pokemon. I was in an artblock and these things get my creative juices flowing.
Artist's Thoughts: Yes, I know they're cats... Fat cats... I started with Glalie and worked my way down the evolution chain. Glalie always looked like it could be a snow leopard. I know he was based off of some demons in mythology, but demons aren't animals that would actually appear in a world like ours right?

I like this take on the family; awesome art,Β but given that Snorunt is my favorite pokemon, I definitely want to see different approaches that would hopefully stay more in line with what they are supposed to look like/are based on. I just don't see the snow leopard as being the best option, but I really appreciate the attempt to make them realistic (and more cute!)
The art is reallyΒ well doneΒ and putting what I said beforeΒ aside, I still really like this

I think the snorunt line is more like insects or shell-fish.

While I would rather cuddle with one of the cat-like Snorunts, I think that a shellfish approach would have stayed more true to the family.

I don't see it, they have a japanese horror story/ fairy tale theme going with their line, I dont even see how you got a cat outΒ of them... O_o

I needed them to be able to exist in a realistic/animal world and glalie looked like a snow leopard to me and i went down from there

Have you seen just what kind of creatures exist in the real world animal kingdom itself? Surely you could have done something other than making them look like blatant cats.Β
It's great art, sure, but I wouldn't say that it's a good depiction of 'realistic Pokemon'.Β

You know, it took a second to really kind of imagine them as cats, but looking at it, that really works out. Not to mention it's beautiful drawn and designed.

Wow! That's an incredible interpretation! I was always wondering how people would make realistic glalies and snorunts, but I really like this! It makes sense and works really well, and of course, the fur details are beautiful!
