"There is a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man..." I'm a huge Twilight Zone fan, I grew up watching that show in syndication...so I had to eventually do a Rod Serling. I did this piece in color and then converted it to B&W but now that I look at it, it seems to have lost a lot of subtlety in the conversion. I might've made it a bit too stark, although I was going for that great contrast that episodes like " Eye of the Beholder" and "Third From the Sun" had...oh, well. I might go back and mess with this one some more.... anyway, "Submitted for your approval...."Related content

Accepted with your approval. To me, the golden age of TV was back in the late 1970s when channel 11 had reruns of The Odd Couple at 11PM, The Honeymooners at 11:30PM, Star Trek at midnight and The Twilight Zone at 1AM. In retrospect, I can't form a coherent sentence without referencing at least ONE of those shows. Don't know if that's good or bad...

Mike, that is great that you mentioned that because in the book I am working on, I mention that exact Channel 11 lineup and how that was a viewing staple for me. Thanks! But do me a favor. Look at the revised version of this piece please. I just did it. I can't stand this one anymore... lol....

HAHAHA God, Every time I see this pic in my faves I have to stop and look at it, it's just so great! You nailed him perfectly! I LOVE the eyebrows XD He just looks so smug, cocky, and bemused hahaha. His mouth is great to. Man I even love his forehead! The whole thing is just epic, and captures his very essence so perfectly!~ Fantastic job as usual dude!

Lol... thanks! I look at it now and I am less than satisfied with it, to be honest. But you know how that goes... we artist are always like that. I should do it again and run it by you... see what you think.

XD I know exactly that you mean, I'll work my ass off on a portrait and I'm always trying to outdo myself (which is why I progress so friggin' fast) but that means that once I have a new portrait, the last one I did looks like garbage XD

I kind of like the lines myself, I think it asdds to the early 60's TV feel of the piece myself.

Yeah, that's a good one! I always love how bummed out the Martian dude is when the cook tells him that they intercepted his invasion fleet. The cook starts laughing and the guy is so annoyed...ALWAYS makes me laugh... Thanks for the comment!
