This is the version 2.0 for my "The Dead Queen" piece [link] , my entry for the "Fantasy Sci-fi Fusion Contest" held by the #Realm-of-Fantasy group (I just don't delete it right now because the voting is still going on). The first version was hitting a nerve so I'd to get back to it.Re-post from version 1.0:
I tried to merge aliens and a royal environment (typical of fantasy), hopefully it will suit the contest's restrictions.
I picked up an extra theme for this one which will be History. This piece is based on one of the most famous portuguese stories and perhaps one of the creepiest too: Inês de Castro. As the legend says the King forced the entire court to swear allegiance to their new queen by kissing the corpse's hand (she was murdered). I suggest you to give this [link] a read.

Está lindo! Adoro a suavidade, muito delicado mas tb emotivo. E amei o tema em que te baseaste, sempre achei essa história creepy mas bonita de uma certa maneira
Da versão antiga, tb gostei mt, mas acho que esta palete de cores se encaixa melhor no tema, e reforça-o. Além disso tenho uma panca por tons cinzas contrastados com vermelho

The restrained selection of color is absolutely perfect. I believe in only using what color is only necessary for the expression of the piece. Serious Bravo and I rarely gush this much!

Ficou muito bonita esta versão também, e concordo q se destaca mais. Creio q uma corzita suave no vestido dela para não ficar tão branca no seu todo também ficava muito bem. Mas só mesmo vendo para poder comparar. 
De qualquer forma, parabéns pelo bom trabalho em ambas. A cada pintura nota-se q vais melhorando mais e é mt bom ver isso.

HELL YES! the way the base of the drawing was made totally hinted at a much less tones painting , i can see this was what u had in mind at the first go not dissing the previous painting witch i still stand by my opinion, this one stands out more due to the culmination of style and coloring, congrats!

Aww... it's still lovely, but this kind of feels like a moment after... Like the sun was piercing the clouds the moment she slipped away, and now that her spirit is gone the world is darker... I think they complement each other.

I'm surprised that people had a problem with the other version. (If I understood you correctly) I like the colors of that one better. The contrast of warm light with death is extra poignant. That's not to say this one isn't working. More attention is drawn to the people in the foreground here.
