Pencil is a medium that is so simple, and yet so wonderful to work with. It's control, it's beautiful values and it's just lovely.

Another artwork inspired by John Bauer's forests, and the girl by ~Resona-Raille 's beautiful paintings with white silhouettes. I recommend his gallery, by the way.

Maybe this doesn't look like much, thinking about it, but I put quite a lot of work into balancing the composition, adding contrast and creating textures. Encountered some problems during the process, but I believe I managed to solve most of them. The hardest part of this was deciding what should be dark and what should remain light, but I'm satisfied with it now.

It was so fun to work in pencil again, and I think this one's good practice for the storybook I'm planning on illustrating as the finishing project in school. I just need to write a story to illustrate. Heheh.

I think I need to stop talking and let my drawings speak for themselves, some time. Another time.
