this is probably a stupid question but, is this real? i mean, the Espeon looks real but the background doesn't

Haha, well, not entirely!
If you wanna know the whole story: I took a seperate photo for each yellow highlight while illuminating them with a flashlight, combined them in Photoshop and added a "better" background, as the night sky in the original image wasn't that awesome. 
But no steel wire was needed

if you didn't use steel wire then how did you get Espeon to stay standing? if you used string wouldn't Espeon collapse?
