This little one is the blackest and sturdiest pup of the three Gelsenkirchen-siblings. *glimpses at Wincey * I'd call him Devaki.

I'd so like to see the puppies again, but actually ZOOM Gelsenkirchen and me seem to be linked by very bad karma. Last year the pup died after my first visit and this year a horrible storm devastated the zoo after my first puppy-visit. The zoo got so severely damaged that it had to block most parts of the zoo. When bleedingcolor and me visited the zoo two weeks after the storm they didn't even charged for entry, instead saying: "Pay what you want." We noticed that the way that brings you to the wolves fastest was blocked, so because we did not want to go the long way we slipped underneath a barrier and went straight for it. Well - and when we reached the wolf enclosure we noticed that for now this was a forbidden area. Yeah, damn. So we sneaked away and left again. No puppies this day.
Now, almost a month after the storm, the zoo has unblocked 95% of it's enclosures. Meaning - everything except the wolf enclosure, which is still inaccessible. Destiny, why are you so mean to me. Shall I tell you that after our unsuccessful visit of Gelsenkirchen we went for Zoo Duisburg, expecting to see polar wolf puppies and after 3 hours in front of an enclosure with sleeping wolves we got told they do not have any puppies this year? 'Twas a fail-day, seriously.
