Description An experiment in light painting at Cramond Causeway in Edinburgh, Scotland.

This was a five minute exposure which gave some nice movement to the clouds and some inadvertent star trails, too. I used an LED torch to light up the concrete stones which gave them a cool blue glow.

I had to watch out near the end for some dive bombing bats and the odd fox wandering across the beach, too.

I'll post another version without the light painting soon.

Hi kharashov

I'm doing a talk on some of the more creative ways to use light painting on Friday night. I was wondering if I could use this photo in the talk as an example? It's in Edinburgh too, if you're still around and would like to come and watch.

Cheers,
Matt

Hi there,

Sorry I didn't respond sooner - did you use the photo in your talk anyway? Where was it? Hope it went well.

Thanks,

Stewart.

I'm not the biggest fan of concrete, but you turned the concrete pretty here!

I'd say the experiment was a success! Nicely done--I like the cool tones of the concrete and the cloud movement makes the shot dynamic. Well worth a few dive bombing bats to get this shot
