Description
A factory, manufacturing the jeans of an international brand which you all know very well...7.500 workers... 3 shifts... 22.500...
22.500 families...
At least 60.000 people's lives...
Tied to this... factory... this... grave...
They have to go to "die" ( a common phrase used by the workers, who "dye" the jeans, even in Turkiye... ) and be reborn again, after 8 hours...
With the hope, to spend time and sleep afterwards, in peace, in their so called "houses", with their children...
In spite of the common fear they feel,
whenever they think their salaries will not be enough to reach the end of the month...
whenever they hear their children wanting something... A toy, maybe...
whenever they see them ill and know they have to think about the price of the medicine, before their health...
whenever their chief comes near them, with a faint smile...
whenever they... wake up...
They never smile, or laugh, for more than a few heartbeats...
Because in our country, there is a saying... "Never laugh too much... For something evil might happen to you, or your family..."
And they are afraid of evil...
More evil...
This factory, this graveyard, wherein here you see only a tiny part of, works 24 hours a day... It never sleeps... This, is a very rare moment where it seems deserted...
But when the shifts change... You see an army walking out their graves... An army, working, for "gods", for food...
Beautiful faces... Handsome faces... Tired faces... Angry faces... Strong faces... Weak faces...
All... Earning a living...
By sacrificing blood... The blood of their souls... The blood of their joy for life... The blood of their hopes...
To "gods"...
Forgetting the clouds... Forgetting the flowers... Forgetting the sunset... Forgetting the sea...
Hating the dawn...
Loving the darkness...
To earn a living...
But guess who is w a t c h i n g ...

i might be wrong, but i really think this photo is more like an "extension" of the comment than the other way around, like it should normally be. i mean, without trying to offend, that this photo is a lot less meaningful without the comment.

You are absolutely right, but that was what I wanted to give: I wanted to depict a scene, where sun is going to set soon on a huge factory... This happens, every day, over every huge factory... It is totally ordinary, and it is totally normal... But if we add the thoughts, into that ordinary scene, by the words, then we have a concept, an idea, a meaning...
I didn't want to have ghosts of workers, wandering around, walking towards the setting sun... I didn't want to show an instant where things seem very "surreal". I just wanted to show that, even in some ordinary still look, there lies a story within, almost invisible...
Yes, maybe a photo has to say all, in one look... But sometimes, you smell the air, look around and feel it...
I wanted my comment to be the extra dimension... I am an amateur photographer, therefore I may have failed...
But, I'm still honored to see that I've touched my target, at least from its outer rim, after reading your comment...

You did not fail, no picture could have been alone as meaningful as with the comment. there were too many things to express in only one image, it's most probably impossible, amateur photographer or professional (and you should not care about title or status). i know that "an image/photo is worth 1000 words", but sometimes (like in this case), words can add much more to that particular work.
Once again, you did not fail, in my first comment i just tryed to express my admiration for the whole work, the image and the description, and that together they are much more powerful in meaning than taken separately.
i'm sorry if i was a little hard to understand, i don't really express my self that good in english.

Well, under photomanipulation, there are the most stupidly vague subfolders... There is no "conceptual"...
This is not a fantasy, not sci-fi, not surreal, not about animals, not landscape & scenery, not political, not pop-art (for God's sake), not macabre&horror...
At least there were some people inside my thoughts...
Miscellaneous? Well, if these are the poor options, representing the WORLD of photomanipulation, then yes...
