Joey Yung is a cantonese singer and I love her music. I bought a new CD of hers yesterday, and I really loved this photo in it. So I sketched it.It looks nothing like her, and the cross-hatching I used on the face to try to make contrast didn't come out so well. Plus there's this band of white that seems to turn up on my scans once in a while.
It's not too bad for my first ever attempt at realistic things, I guess. Or not.

I know who she is. My friend loves chinese music and she has every right too.
Anyways, its pretty good. Very good for someone I never see draw realistic.
With practice you can get really good. ^_^
I'd say the most off part about this picture is the ear placement. Seems too far back. But then again, she's chinese. I think you should emphsize on the hair and less emphasis on the rock formations on the side of her face.
When doing firsts in relaitic, you want to make them as simple as possible. So cut out the stuff that in real-life shouldn't be there.
Later on, when you think your ready, try doing all the crazy things in pictures like prints and odd clown make-up, etc.
Overall, great pic! ^_^ I love the eyes! The nose is so eveious!!

Um... those rock things... they're actually part of the make up on her face in the pic... it's like little glitter crystal things glued onto the side of it...
And since you've seen her I think you'll agree it doesn't look like her. Oh well. More practice for me.

nice details and the shadow is cool....the eyes are mesmerizing......i was stuck on the fact that they look so realistic.
