((((angsty))))theres an old myth, about a hero who flew on wings made of wax. he thought he could touch the sun, but when he got too close, his wings melted, and he came crashing back down to earth.

that's actually one of my favorite myths tbh,,, but I actually thought he wasn't a hero but the helper of someone who wanted to break out of a luxurious prison they got into after helping create a terrible creature, although luxurious they were trapped. the older guy made wings out of plucked bird feathers and also made one for the helper and gave it as a surprise, and they flew out the window. the older guy told the helpsr to be careful, not to get so close to the sun... but he didn't listen.Β he kinda drowned so bye bye guy.
