Oh man, I watched the Hunchback of Notre Dame for the fist time the other day, and I honest to God LOVED IT. IT is a new favorite. For one, its a MEANINGFUL story, and they didn't try to tone down anything. The music is phenomenal, and every single background scenery is a mixture of paintings and animation thats spectacular to behold. I highly recommend it.

I KNOW! This was so incredible because now theres no WAY they'd be able to make something like this, because it would be regarded as "offensive".
Thank you so much! Its one of the most heartwrenching parts for me, Quasi was so sure she loved him. But yeah.

OH YES THE MUSIC! The Bells of Notre Dame, Hellfire, Court of Miracles, Snactuary, GENIUS! (i love to sing along to the latin chorus)
To me, this was the second most heart wrenching moment. For me it was the "crowning" scene

God I LOVE THE MUSIC. YES the latin chorus is so ironic in Hellfire too. As Frollo sings Its not my fault, the latin is Mea Culpa Mean Maxima Culpa (its my fault, its all my fault)
Oh YES. That tore my heart out with how cruel it was. And then Esmerelda.."Silence!""JUSTICE!"
but then right after that in the cathedral everyone yells at Quasi...as if they haven't done enough.

Also, during the chase between Frollo and Quasi's mom, the chorus sings a gregorian chant (Dies Irae) the song is about how a righteous judge is going to condemn the wicked. OH THE IRONY!
Oh, the French can be cruel.. That scene won my respect for Esmerelda :3
ALSO during Hellfire (and when Frollo's doin' eeeevil stuff, the chorus sings Greek "Kyrie Eleison (God have mercy on me)

Really? I just watched it again too! (and watched some clips a couple hundred times XD) It's just one of those movies you can watch over and over again. Disney srsly needs to make movies like this again, but as you said, people today would find stuff like this offensive D:

I don't think I've ever seen that movie (at least, not since I was 5 or 6 probably...) But it sounds like a REALLY good movie. It never really interested me when I was younger, but now you're kind of making me want to ask my Disney-obsessed friend if I can borrow it XD Anyway, this looks really awesome I almost thought it was a screenshot when I saw the thumbnail. YEah same here, I wasn't interested as a youngster, but recently I've taken to watchin gall the ones my mom didn't let us watch. All of them were probably too strong for us small ones back then, but now its incredible to see them.
