  Sora summoned the Kingdom Key and got into battle position. "Ready for a little practice?" he asked Brenden.

  "Can't we start with something simpler? Like stuffed dummies?" he asked in return, also summoning the same weapon.

  "Nah," Sora replied. "This is more fun." The two boys charged into battle, leaving the rest of us to fend for ourselves. A wave of about 20 Heartless started to surround our small group.

  "Hey!" I called. "What about us?!"

  "Just avoid and evade!" Sora shouted back, slashing a Shadow Heartless.

  That wasn't really the answer I was looking for. "Says the guy with the giant key for a weapon!" Without thinking, as a Heartless lunged for me, I flung it off with a round-house kick and it evaporated. 'Wow,' I thought. 'I guess watching my little brother's Tae Kwon Do lessons wasn't a bad idea after all.' More Heartless came and encircled Kairi and the others who were frozen in fear. "Guys!" I yelled.

  They looked up at me as if they were snapped out of a daydream.

  "Follow my lead!" As a Neo-Shadow went for me, I sliced it with a power kick, causing it to evaporate like the last one. The others soon joined in the frenzy, too because I could hear them behind me. Suddenly, about ten Heartless prepared to jump on me, but miraculously, I was able to dodge roll out of the way and the Heartless fell to the ground.

  "How did you do that?!" Kairi exclaimed, seeing the stunt I pulled.

  "I have no idea!" Once again, we were encased in a circle of Heartless. "Back to back?"

  "Let's do it!" As if we were the same person again, Kairi and I kicked and punched in perfect syncranization. For every move she made with her right leg, I countered from behind with my left arm. And the weirdest part was that we had never done this kind of thing before, and yet it felt like we've fought like that hundreds of times before.

  At last the swarms became smaller and smaller until there were none left. I was ready for more, but sadly that warm-up got me worked up for nothing. As the last waves of adrenaline left my body, Sora and Brenden walked over to us. "You guys were great!" remarked Brenden.

  "Yeah," Sora added. "It was really impressive."

  "Well we would've done better if you guys didn't ditch us and take off like that," I scoffed.

  "Well, umm......" Sora was at a loss for words.

  "Just kidding," I giggled. We laughed a bit while the boys dismissed their Keyblades.

  "I know what's next on our inventions list," Lindsay said.

  "And what exactly is that?" Marlee asked.

  "Some sort of weapon," she replied. "I don't know how well hand to hand combat will work for some of us."

We all looked over at Greg who was rolling on the floor, clutching his leg. "CRAMP!! Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow!"

  "Hey, you guys," Julia said. "Shouldn't we do something about Luke?" Annabeth looked over at the unconcious blonde.

  She grabbed some of the rope left over from where Lindsay, Brenden, and I were bound. "I have a few ideas." Percy and his friends went to tie him up while my group sat down the take a breather.

  "Hey, Kairi," I walked over to her. "Can I ask you something?"

  "Yeah," she replied. "What?"

  "Well, back when we were fighting the Heartless, why did you use regular combat instead of your Keyblade?"

  There was a brief pause before she answered. "Well.....I guess I'm just not used to fighting with a Keyblade. I'm still more comfortable fighting hands on."

  "Oh," I said. "Well, that's cool. Maybe we can keep practicing techniques for later on."

  She nodded. "Sure."

  "Okay guys," Annabeth said. "Let's go and get everyone from the camp out of here."

  "Follow me," said Nico, starting to walk out of the room.

  "Hold on," Rachel called. She walked over to Luke and pulled out a marker. I could tell she was drawing something on his face. When she stepped back, I saw that the boy was tied very tightly to one of the chairs and now had a marker mustache and glasses. "What?" the red head asked, a smile on her face.

  "C'mon," Lindsay said let's get outta here." We walked through the doors and shut them behind us. Standing out in the main hall, Nico was about to take the lead and show us where everyone from Camp Half-Blood was held prisoner, but a certain Corridor of Darkness opened in front of us, preventing any further venturing.

  A figure in a hooded black cloak stepped out. The Corridor closed and the figure pulled his hood down. He had dark violet hair and tan skin. He glared at us with his unmoving amber eyes. I saw the man had a symbol on his coat: a heart, half light and half darkness with a silver keyhole in the middle.

  "You're a Shadow," I said. "A member of the Secret Seven."

  The Shadow nodded. "I am more than a member. I am Xamos, leader of the Secret Seven Shadows." His voice reminded me of Xemnas.

  Sora was prepared to summon his Keyblade again. "What do you want from us?"

  Xamos could sense the note of hostility in Sora's voice. "I come in peace, for now." I really didn't like the way he said that. "You are stronger than we expected." Xamos continued. "but that does not mean you can stop us." He opened another Corridor. "Do not interfere, or you shall pay with your lives." With that, he stepped through and disapeared along with the Corridor of Darkness. "You have been warned," his voice echoed through the halls of the ship.

  "That.....was weird," remarked Percy.

  "Let's get out of here," Kairi said. Before we got the chance to go very far, bands of black mist started to circle around Brenden very slowly.

  "G-guys," he stuttered. "what's going on?"

  A raspy voice echoed through the hallway. "I have come you, my liege." A black, ghost-like creature flew out of the wall opposite from us and sped towards Brenden, but at the same time, passed right through Sora. He fell to the ground as I slashed the creature with a power kick. It faded away along with the whisps darkness around Brenden. I ran towards Sora.

  "Sora." I was on my knees and proped his head in my lap. "You're so cold." He was shivering all over and his face was a little blue.

  "What was that thing?" Rachel asked.

  "A True Shadow," Lindsay replied.

  "It was after me," Brenden said. "But if I feel what Sora does, how come I'm not freezing?"

  "Maybe it effects just the people it touches," Marlee suggested.

  "Sora," I whispered softly. As each second went by, I could feel his temperature dropping. I embraced him in my arms, a few tears escaping onto his shoulder. I knew we'd have to get moving soon to find the campers, but I didn't care. I didn't care about anything at that point. I could've been killed with Sora in my arms and fade back into the darkness and I wouldn't care. Nothing mattered.
