Description For VolbeatFiro 's contest. But I've edited the info since then, since I do have plans for her.

History
Della Stanton grew up on a sheep ranch out in the countryside, never seeing much of the Pokémon league. To her, and most of the people in the community, Pokémon were either as pets or pests. While she was content, Della always felt that there was something more for her. It wasn't until she met Cash that she realized how appealing the journey of a Pokémon trainer was to her, despite not knowing the first thing about the Pokémon League. She does things as she sees fit, bending the rules by running into fights herself or using moves in unpredictable (and sometimes ineffective) ways. Without a doubt, she is not your typical trainer.

Personality
On the ranch, she spent most of her time guarding the flock from predators, giving her a naturally protective instinct. It also meant many days spent alone, giving her what some might call a "fiercely independent" personality--but what others refer to as "bull-headed stubbornness". She's used to doing everything herself and takes pride in acting as the leader, whether she is asked to or not. She is, however, not used to opposition and even the smallest of obstacles will get her frustrated. So how does she solve these problems? The same way she scared off predators in the fields: By being as loud and intimidating as she can.

Other Facts: Della is 18 years old, 5' 8" and weighs 153lbs. She has a leggy, atheletic build and is stronger than she looks.

Her Pokémon team includes:

Cashmere "Cash" the Mareep - Male - Lives in the moment, always up to something to prevent boredom; sticks his nose where it doesn't belong and gets into lots of trouble; doesn't take things seriously; stores items in his wool, mostly food; almost always out of his Pokéball

Edge the Noctowl - Male - Polite and very loyal to Della and those he respects, he doesn't beat around the bush; judgemental, unsympathetic, believes in hierarchy and obedience

Ferron the Mawile - Male - He's a wuss who was abandoned by his previous owner because his low confidence affected his battling; though he still lacks confidence, he tries his best (often with little results)

Slate the Marill - Male - He respects nothing but strength and is always taking on opponents much stronger than himself; he's only with Della because he needed a trainer to get stronger; what he won't admit, though, is that he's learning that strength isn't everything

Rossette "Ross" the Ledian - Female - She searched the region for the perfect trainer to go on an epic adventure; likes to show off, proud of her knowledge and skill, a little arrogant, owns up to her mistakes

Persea the Gloom - Male - Lazy, nonchalant, and apathetic in most cases; in fights, he uses status inducing moves to avoid working harder than he needs to

Also, this contest was actually pretty useful, too, cause Della could use a reference anyways.

HNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGG, I love how thoroughly pleasant and optimistic her personality is, and her fashion is iconic as well as adorable. her team really fuels her potential with a wide variety of emotions in them, and they help give her more humor potential without forcing her to be an over the top character herself, which is a neat approach and mixes up the formula. love how you drew all the pokemon, their personalties come off very well in the art, and love how believable of a person she is with both realistic faults and optimism. I'm really glad you entered and thanks for adding in all the pokemon too, seeing them drawn out with fitting expressions helps flesh out their personality a lot ;3

Hahahaha, I know I went over the top with drawing all her Pokémon... I even drew her from behind until I realized that wasn't a necessity! XD

And, ah, I'm glad you like her and her team! I was really worried that she was maybe a bit too...boring to even be considered. D: Happy to hear she's acceptable!

nothing wrong with that, going over the top can definitely help scoring and stuff, not like it can hurt XD.

heh, nah, it's a great combination, she's believable and charming, yet without all the quirks of her pokemon team she wouldn't work for odd ones. it's an creative approach that works surprisingly well

Hahahah, oh gosh, I don't advocate going over the top to anyone who doesn't have the time for it. :'D It's not the bestest of ideas.

Hurray, believable characters! \o/ I think I've always been better at creating character dynamics than just...characters, to be honest. :'D I have no idea what I'm doing.

By the by, is it okay if I reword/edit her personality a bit to match more what I had in mind for her, or would you rather I leave it? o3o

heh, yes yes.

oh joy, and glad you are.

uhhh, I already did your judging, but you're able to revise the bio 1 time, then let me know when you're done with revisions so I can revise my judging >3<.

Ah, oh gosh, it's okay if I do? ;A; I mean, I fixed it, but she's still pretty much the same I just worded it better? I always edit personality bios, like, 1034346 times before I'm finally satisfied and it's okay, you don't have to change your judging aaaaaa -feels terrible- orz

OddPenguin In reply to Khrysteen [2013-03-31 18:31:11 +0000 UTC]

yup, no problem, and I get what you mean, I tinker with my submissions all the time too. and the bio is reflected in the judging so of course edits are taken into account, edits can change the depth of things easily.

psh, don't feel bad, I've had others approach me about this as well, and I said it's fine to edit the bio, just let me know when you're done so I can tinker with the initial judging, I just don't want to have to do it 1034346 times. not like I have to redo the whole thing, don't worry about it, I'm cool with revising it again. my judging is pretty long though, so don't want to do it more than once , but when you feel finalized enough let me know.
